Update: It appears that the police have begun the assault on Merah's apartment. See the running blog above. Shots or blasts have been heard.
Update: The previous report of explosions, though accurate, apparently was not part of a final assault. It is past midnight in Toulouse, and the siege has lasted nearly 24 hours. Yet new explosions have been heard.

Funny how these guys look much like the actual 9/11 terrorists
(19 of them, as I recall), as well as the great bulk of those who have engaged in terrorist attacks against us in the last several years. Just an observation in passing.
