Fast and Furious: Apology to Mexico?

Attorney General Eric Holder- 2011 Fousesquawk Jerk of the Year

Hat tip Daily Caller

If President Obama thinks an apology is warranted to Afghanistan over the murder of 16 Afghan civilians by a US soldier, should anyone apologize to Mexico over the deaths of some 300 Mexicans as result of Fast and Furious?

Actually, the article should add one more name to that mix; that of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. This is nothing short of a diplomatic incident. Think of it. Thousands of weapons taken into Mexico as US agents (ordered to) turn a blind eye, and said weapons are used to kill some 300 Mexicans.

Meanwhile, the parents of another ICE agent, possibly killed by F and F weapons, Jamie Zapata, is also speaking out and complaining that they are not gertting answers ffrom the government as to how their son was killed. (Daily Caller)

But as to the diplomatic issue, it is defintely what you would call a "diplomatic incident". And yes, in this case, I must say that an apology to Mexico is appropriate, as well as the resignation of Eric Holder.

Perhaps the fact that Mexico hasn't said one word about wanting an apology is an indication that the operation was more legitimate than the Issa mob wants us to know. Maybe the Mexican government understands that it was a fairly routine, good-faith effort to get a handle on the massive flow of guns from the U.S. into Mexico, which the Mexican government HAS repeatedly asked the U.S. government to act more vigorously to control. 300 is a drop in the bucket, or rather, in a massive river that was flowing long before Obama was elected.
