The below Daily Caller article questions whether House Speaker John Boehner is is supporting the Fast and Furious hearings or trying to slow them down.

Go figure. Why wouldn't Boehner be speaking out on Fast and Furious and supporting Darrell Issa's committee in its probe? The truth is I've given up on trying to figure out Republican strategy especially since it always seems to boomerang. Maybe he is following the tradition of GW Bush when he came into office and resisted an investigation into the Clinton pardons.
Maybe Boehner is playing it low-key because he wants to stay above the fray-which begs the question-why be speaker of the House? Maybe he wants to drag the hearings out to November and ensure it's a campaign issue. Maybe he fears the Republicans will be accused of engaging in a partisan, political witch hunt. (They already are being so accused.)
Of course, nobody ever said the Democrats were on a partisan, political witch hunt during Watergate, did they? (Turns out there were a few witches.) Yet, when the facts came out, Nixon lost the support of his own party and had nowhere to go but California. So far, I have not heard of any Democrats saying that Holder and his cronies in Justice have to go.
If Boehner wants to stay above the fray, that's one thing. Trying to hamper the investigation in any way is another. He has a responsibility at least to support Issa and the Republicans on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Maybe Boehner is too smart to buy a pig in a poke.
