Maxine Waters and her Demons

America's Sweetheart, Maxine Waters, has made another memorable speech, this time at a California Democratic convention in San Diego. At the big shebang, over the past weekend, she called John Boehner,  Eric Cantor, and all the other Republicans "demons". The Gentle Lady from California also informed her enchanted listeners that if the Dems can re-capture the House in November, she will become the head of the Financial Services Committee, where she presumably can win more financial services for her husband.

In case you are wondering who the charming and eloquent fellow who introduces her in the video is, he is John Burton. Who is John Burton, you ask?

You don't want to know.

Now that is a scary thought indeed. Imagine Waters, who has a few demons herself, as head of this committee at the same time she is facing an ethics investigation over using her position to gain federal money for her husband's bank.

Conflict of interest? Corruption? Why perish the thought.

Give Maxine credit for one thing though. At least she doesn't give us any bull about "bringing us together".

Maxine Waters exaggerates. The gentlemen she refers to are not demons, just clueless ideologues and incompetents. There is a difference.

I have had zero respect for Maxine Waters since she was a California legislator who cooperated with Phil Nolan to bring forth a bastard enterprise zone bill. The whole thing was structured like the relationship (at the time) of Soweto township to downtown Johannesburg. Just what we needed in the USA.

Ideally, she will face a vibrant young challenger in the Democratic primary. That will help to improve the performance of the new Democratic majority in the next congress.

elwood, make up your mind whether there is, or is not, a difference between being a "devil" and being a clueless, incompetent, ideologue.

As long as you are trying to be a mugwump on this issue, with your mug on one side of the fence and your wump on the other, it is difficult to carry on a coherent conversation.

Speaking of the devil, I saw and heard Maxine Waters yesterday in Garden Grove, bejeezus. Stand by for a report.
