Gates of Vienna has posted a fascinating video of a Dutch panel featuring British Islamic scholar Haitham al-Haddad, who sits on the Shura Council in London. In this video, Haddad gives his views on stoning and apostasy. In a second clip, he responds to a Dutch TV commentator's question on his having referred to Jews as "apes" and "pigs".

Keep in mind that Haitham sits on the Shura Council in London. He is considered an expert on Islamic law.

Yeah, well Clarence Thomas sits on the Supreme Court of the United States. He is considered an expert on constitutional law. I've read a number of his dissenting and concurring opinions. If he can sit on our Supreme Court, this other jerk can sit in the Shura Council -- at least the Shura Council can't issue binding rulings.
