Unanswered Questions

Recently, I have engaged my opponents in exchanges over our comment thread in response to certain posts. During these exchanges-or on the posts themselves- I have asked certain questions of my interlocutors or invited them to comment or challenge my points. In these cases, the answer has been dead silence. Here are some examples.

In my lengthy post on the Olive Tree Initiative and its relationship with Shannon Shibata and her Centre for New Diplomacy, she responded with a quasi-explanation about her organization, which I claimed is heavily anti-Israel. In my response to her comment, I asked her pointedly under what circumstances did she leave her service with the pro-Israel organization, Stand With Us. I also asked her if she arranged the 2009 meeting between OTI students and Aziz Dweik, a high-ranking Hamas official in the West Bank.

Since then, there has been no response.

Five days ago, I cross-posted a piece by Dexter Van Zile, which raised some hard points about Muslim hate toward others. I invited my Muslim readers to comment on the statements made by Van Zile and engage in some honest dialogue about his statements. Thus far, nobody has taken me up on my invitation.

In response to my post on anti-Semitism in France, one anonymous reader quickly raised the issue of hate crimes against Muslims in Europe and provided links. I read the stories and condemned the incidents reported. I invited this reader to answer some questions on the topic. Specifically, what is "Islamophobia" and why did so many Europeans resent the Muslim presence in Europe?

I am still waiting for an answer.

Considering that your audience is a handful of devoted fans and one carping critic, they may not put answering your questions very high on their priorities list. Will it help them to get a hat tip from Gary Fouse? Will it hurt them that Gary is furiously denouncing them? Probably not.

Word verification: shicslet. Is that a female who is not Jewish and has not yet reached the age of marriage?
