Handsome Henry (Waxman) Fights Terrorists

"Handsome Henry" after saving a hostage.

"Handsome Henry" Waxman (D-CA) is fighting "terrorists" in Congress. That would be Republican terrorists.  Hot Air's Green Room has the report.

The other part of the article quotes liberal talk show hostess Stephanie Miller calling Arizona Governor Jan Brewer a racist for shaking her finger at President Obama.

The logic? Something about a "fragile white woman" and a skinny black guy. That's liberal logic for you. Anyway, she also says Lyndon Johnson would have broken off her finger and ........

And who was LBJ pointing his finger at? I guess we'll never know.

It's wierd to juxtapose that picture with this statement in the article: "Miller then went on to accuse Brewer of (what else?) racism, quoting a listener who wrote on her Facebook page that the governor was playing the “fragile white woman scared of black man” card."

She doesn't look scared to me. I've become so used to the Democrats claiming "racism" over every difference to it has completely lost its value. It started before even before he was elected and the fact that Obama was actually elected disproves the assertion that America is a racist country.

Funny (if ex-presidents still get Secret Service protection, this may get me investigated), but I have often thought/said that I would do the exact same thing with Bill Clinton's infamous wagging bony right forefinger, should it ever be wagged at me or poke me in the chest.

Further, while we cannot help most of our physical appearance, one of the comments in Gary's post related to Mr. Waxman's. All I can say is that if my dog was as ugly as he is, I would shave his behind and train him to to walk backwards (yes, I know that is an ad hominy attack).

Actually, a comment re Waxman in the posting to which Gary provided the link, not a comment by Gary himself. Sorry.

Elwood,

The article speaks for itself. Besides, how can you criticize a super-hero?

Easily.

Some days Henry Waxman can be as silly a man as Fousesquawk. Chalk up one more reason I'm not a Democrat. If there were any Republicans who didn't excel the Democrats at immature narcissism, I might be a Republican. But the good Republicans never get nominated for public office.

Siarlys--in a possible double post, for which I apologize in advance, who, specifically, are some of the "good Republicans"??

Well, my mother inherited her Republican loyalties from her grandfather, who was an organizer for the United Mine Workers of America. She was a dedicated volunteer at party campaign offices for decades, but she has been deeply embarrassed since 1980 as she watched Republican administrations run up huge deficits and blithely announce that it didn't matter. She always thought Republicans were the ones who balanced budgets and stuff, but since 1980 the only president to do that was a Democrat.

The there is Rep. Petri -- the only Republican my union has endorsed in recent memory. I recall the legislative director writing 'contrary to common belief, we do endorse Republicans if they stand up for transit, and Petri does.' I was also impressed that Petri had been pushing for years to take government backed student loans out of the private banking sector. His thought was, if the taxpayer is taking the risk, why do the banks get the rewards? Of course it was mostly Democrats who finally got his bill passed.

There is also a Republican state senator named Alvin Ott who supported a bill to allow local communities to put forming and funding a regional transit authority up for a vote, without having to to hat in hand to the legislature every time. I called that local control, but the Republican Party caucus was agin' it. For God's sake don't let The People vote on taxes or local priorities.

There is a nice man from South Carolina who I met in early 2005, coming to visit his daughter-in-law at a federal prison camp. He had just voted for George W. Bush, which I hadn't, but he was a really nice guy, had a good head on his shoulders, if HE were the one running for office, I'm convinced he would have had decent priorities... but I wouldn't put it past him to have voted for Gingrich, albeit the man is a praise leader in an evangelical church which believes marriage is sacred.

When I think of any more, I'll let you know.
