Fast and Furious and the 5th

"C'mon Patty. You don't wanna be the fall-guy do ya?"

It's going to be a little harder for the defenders of Eric Holder and his Justice Department to claim that the Fast and Furious scandal is just a bunch of politics. Now we learn that one of the figures is going to plead the 5th Amendment when he appears before Congress.

Here is Daily Caller's take on the latest development:

Remember the old days, when it was the prosecutors and cops asking the questions and bad guys taking the 5th?

"Sorry, Lefty. I can't answer that question. I'm taking the 5th."
(Lefty's on the left.)

In addition to taking the 5th, it appears Mr Cunningham fears he is being used as the "fall-guy", to use the language of the criminal element. It also sounds like Cunningham is the type of guy you could make a deal with. Problem is, who is going to make a deal with him-the Justice Department?

That's why this case cries out for a special prosecutor. Problem is, who appoints the special prosecutor?
