Anti-Semitism in France

Hat tip to Frontpage Magazine

Brenda Mitchell, writing in Frontpage Magazine has the disturbing report on the resurgence of anti-Semitism in France.

This is happening in so many countries in Europe. Whether it's France, Britain, Scandinavia or Holland, the picture is the same. Mitchell mentions the demographics in France. It is mostly the younger Muslim immigrants who are stoking the hate and committing the acts of vandalism and violence, aided by neo-Nazi skinhead types. It is the political leadership of Europe that turns a blind eye to the outrages because they are afraid to offend their restive immigrant populations, the Arab world, the oil producers and the jihadists. Thus, they allow foreigners in their countries to terrorize their Jewish fellow-citizens, much as they allowed the occupying Germans to round up their Jewish fellow-citizens two-thirds of a century before. And what of Europeans of conscience who dare to speak up? They get prosecuted for "hate speech". Ask Geert Wilders in Holland. Ask Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff in Austria.

Who will be the last European to be eaten by the alligator?

I'll join you on the point that failure to enforce common legal standards, out of fear that some restive group might be offended, is bad policy.

In this country, we failed to enforce three amendments to the Constitution of the United States for fear of offending a powerful cultural group. Fear of a restive immigrant group from the former colonies is no better.

But Muslim immigrant youth expressing admiration for Hitler is sort of like Michelle Bachman expressing admiration for Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, James Madison... there is no real connection in motives or principles.

Gary, you're making excuses for bigots and fascists.

Has it also ever occurred to you that a good number of these incidents (against both Muslims and Jews) are probably carried out by right-wing neo-Nazi type groups who belong to neither minority and hate BOTH Jews and Muslims?

No excuse, Anonymous. I deplore both kinds of incidents because everyone is victimized. As for the anti-Muslim incidents, I suspect the neo-Nazi type racists skinheads are the prime culprits. I am specifically talking about people who would attack other people on the streets or paint offensive symbols on buildings and places of worship. I am not necessarily referring to those who want Muslim immigration to Europe to stop and have spoken out. As for attacks against Jews, it is mostly Muslims and some neo-Nazi types.

Would you argue with that?

Would you like to discuss why there is bad feeling toward both groups in Europe? We can have a great discussion here if you care to.

Gary does mention, when it is brought to his attention, that he deplores attacks on Muslims. What he does not do is take initiative to publicize each and every one, overlaid with harsh criticism, ominous predictions of where the world is heading, and demand for immediate action by responsible authorities.
