My friends and colleagues at the AMCHA Initiative have sent a letter to Charles Reed, who is the chancellor of the California State University system. At issue is the use of a Cal State University (Northridge) server and website by a CSUN professor named David Klein to disseminate his personal political views on Israel and to promote a boycot. (Refer to previous posts on this issue on this site.)
Dr Klein is entitled to express his views. The question is whether when they appear on a CSUN server, does this directly or indirectly put the CSUN imprimatur on the content expressed.
Below linked is the referenced letter which you may sign if you wish. (I have signed it.) In this case, AMCHA has written to Reed directly since the ex-chancellor (Jolene Koester) has left her position after basically telling AMCHA to take a flying leap, and the new interim president (Harold Hellenbrand) has already signed his name to a letter by Dr Klein urging that the university not engage in sending students to study in Israel. (Yes, university administrators also get involved in these political issues.)
