Jon Dumitru Tells About His Battle With CAIR

Last Saturday night, Orange City Councilman Jon Dumitru spoke before Act for America in Carona, California. Dumitru appeared and spoke as a private citizen and not as a city councilman of Orange. I was there and had a chance to speak with Dumitru after his appearance. Dumitru, as you may recall is the city councilman who posted a message on his Facebook page on the 10th anniversary of 9-11 that drew the ire of the local southern California CAIR chapter and its leader Hussam Ayloush.

In his remarks, Dumitru recounted the firestorm that resulted from his Facebook statement. He received many death threats in the days following his posting. The mayor of Orange refused to support him as she basically hid under her desk.

Most interestingly, he recounted receiving a phone call from the local CAIR representative, whose name he remembered only as "Maloush-something or other" (Hussam Ayloush). Not only that, Ayloush had about 20 media reporters set up on a conference call. He then proceeded to make a list of demands, all of which Dumitru refused.

Dumitru then went on to thank the many people who showed up at the last city council meeting to voice their support. He added that a couple of CAIR types had showed up to express their displeasure, but that they left when they saw they were faced with an "uneven playing field".

Here is the point to the Dumitru episode. CAIR is attempting to silence any serious discussion of the nature of Islam as a potential threat to American freedoms. As I stated at my chance to give my three minutes worth at the Orange City Council meeting, whether one ascribes to making a connection between 9-11, other terrorist acts and Islamic doctrine or not, the fact is that everyone in America is discussing that issue since 9-11. CAIR wants to silence the discussion. They cannot, and it shows that they do not understand the  American principle of free speech. The discussion must and will continue because ultimately the Dumitru case is an example of free speech under attack from the likes of CAIR and their allies.

CAIR's attempt to silence and marginalize Dumitru failed because he refused to cave in to their demands and the people stopped what they were doing and showed up to support him in front of the city council and their feckless mayor.

The Dumitru case is a template for what the public needs to do to stand up to and stop the bully boys at CAIR.

Not only is it that they don't understand what free speech is, they try to change the use of it for their purposes. This just emphasizes just how foreign they are. They will never be assimilated because they want to impose their culture.

Clarify "they" Miggie. You sound like Hitler talking about Jews, except for a substitution of nouns. No, you haven't used any nouns. Just pronouns.
