Northen Arizona University Commemorates 9-11

"Time, Place and Manner"

This week, a group of students at Northern Arizona University tried to set up a table to commemorate 9-11. Here is what happened as reported by Daniel Doherty in Townhall (Hat tip to Townhall).

http://townhall.com/tipsheet/danieldoherty/2011/09/13/nau_college_administrators_stifle_911_never_forget_project_and_limit_free_speech

Do you think university administrators would have intervened had the students message been something like....

"Bush committed 9-11"

"Our policies led to  9-11"

"US out of Afghanistan"

"Close GITMO"

"Free Khalid Sheikh Muhammed"

?????????????????????????????????????

Amazing video. The administrators were merely parroting phrases over and over again without understanding the meaning of them. The students understood the constitution better then they did. (I wonder where they got it.)

There was nothing wrong with the TIME.

There was nothing wrong with the PLACE. They were not obstructing traffic or interrupting any classroom or address.

There was nothing wrong with the MANNER. They were not loud or drowning out anyone else.

The administration couldn't deal with anyone disagreeing with their fiat, once they declared it.

Northern Arizona U would have a case if they were faced with the actual disruption that the Irvine 11 did, but there is no comparison between the two situations. The Irvine 11 would like it to appear similar but it was not even close.

Frankly, I don't much care about commemorating 9/11. Nobody needs an anniversary celebration to remember what happened. And making the anniversary some kind of holiday just gives what's left of al Qaeda an opportunity to try to pull off a lesser stunt on the occasion. Oh, and gives pressure groups and self-appointed representatives of various constituencies something to fight over, another round of metooism. What a waste.
