Ibrahim Hooper
Nihad Awad
Hat tip to Investigative Project on Terrorism
The Council on American-Islamic Relations' (CAIR) executive director Nihad Awad has been interviewed on a Hamas-linked TV outlet telling listeners in Arabic how "awful" things are for American Muslims.

Well, CAIR may not be too highly regarded in the US, but given their history and propensity to reach out to Hamas media, Iran's Press TV, and other disreputable groups, that is hardly surprising. What is not happening in the US (Thank God) is that Muslims are not having their mosques attacked or burned as are Christian churches in Iraq, Pakistan or Egypt. Nor are Muslims being assaulted on the streets as non-Muslims are in many Muslim lands. Nor are Muslim women being raped as non-Muslim women are in many Muslim lands and even in Europe. Nor are Muslims being attacked, arrested, murdered, raped or hanged as are Baha'i in Iran.
In addition, you don't see main-stream news media in America portraying Muslims as pigs or dogs, as Jews are portrayed all over the Middle East in main-stream media. Even among the US websites that speak out against Islamic extremism, you don't see calls to kill Muslims or harm them in any way. In American churches, you don't hear calls from the pulpit urging the flocks to take to the streets and attack Muslims-as happens in Middle Eastern mosques against Jews. There is no prohibition against practicing Islam (or any other religion) in the US-as there is in Saudi Arabia.
In fact, Muslims in the US live in greater freedom than in any Muslim nation.
All that, of course, is lost on Mr Awad and the CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper. I take note of the fact that Awad is a Palestinian immigrant and Mr Hooper is a Canadian immigrant. As jingoistic as it sounds (sorry), I suggest that if Messers Awad and Hooper are so dissatisfied with life in America, then they should simply go back where they came from.

Well, if he quoted at length from Fousesquawk and those dingbats from New York who produced that lurid scurrilous video you were promoting, it wouldn't be hard to convince ANYONE that Muslims were having a hard time in America.
If they asked some of the rest of us, things might look a little brighter. You little think, Gary, what awful propaganda you hand to America's enemies on a daily basis.
You, and the leadership of CAIR, indulge in similar brands of propaganda, and rabid denial of critical questions. From what I've read here and at Rod Dreher's old site, I believe there are some hard questions the CAIR leadership needs to be asked, and their evasions need to be patiently, firmly, worn down, without giving them any ammunition to stir up the home folks.
If I were asking the questions, they wouldn't dare show the video on Hamas media.
Siarlys,
If you were asking the questions, nobody would know what you were talking about.
As George W. Bush said, "Bring it on."
