US Selling Tanks to Egypt-Gunrunner II?
'Allah is our objective; the Prophet is our leader; the Quran is our law; Jihad is our way; dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope."
"And US tanks are our weapon."
First machine guns to Mexico, now tanks to Egypt, a nation that just experienced a revolution that ousted a force for stability in the Middle East (Mubarak) and will likely be taken over by the Muslim Brotherhood. What is the Obama administration thinking?

This is a huge mistake. Unbelievable. I started reading reports on this yesterday and just can't quite figure this one out. I guess we should give them the USS Antietam and some B1 bombers next.
Gary loves dictators.
Think of this: These tanks are just target practice for the IAF.
The MB actually will start another war with Israel. This next war will leave Egypt in ruins.
Dream on. I know you are all tired of seeing Israel at peace with the duly constituted states on its borders, and only having to fight irregular forces. I know you'd like to see it invaded by conventional armies. But, its not going to happen. So sorry.
Israel "at peace w/the duly constituted states on its borders"?
Syria has never made peace w/Israel, it has been, in effect a long ceasefire since 1973. Egypt's peace treaty w/Israel is about to go out the window -- thanks to the Muslim Brotherhood. Missiles and mortar rounds have been raining down on Israel from the Gaza Shite and Lebanon for practically the last DECADE and 60+ years of unending Islamonazi terrorism against the Jewish people in Israel can hardly be called "peace".

Only out of fear and a sense of self preservation will the local states not invade. Of course that leaves Iran and a possible missile strike. Does it not?
Anonymous, you are correct about Syria. However, it HAS - until internal dissent made it seem disingenuously convenient to stage a "spontaneous" civilian lemming rush on the border - refrained from military engagement since 1973. Yes, it was motivated by the knowledge that they would get their butts kicked if they tried again, and losing the Golan Heights was embarrassment enough.
As for Egypt, you are indulging in precisely the sadomasochistic pessimism I was lampooning. You would LOVE to see the Muslim Brotherhood take over Egypt and launch a mass invasion of Israel, just so you could say "I told you so" over the dead bodies of 12 million Jews. I don't think that's a good idea.
When the communists said "after Hitler, us," they had somewhat better logic than you have, and I'm not saying it was GOOD at all, because we all know what really happened.
Hosni Mubarak went the way of all tyrants whose subjects decide they have taken all they are going to take. Propping him up "for the sake of Israel" was a non-starter, and would simply have discredited Israel if it worked for a few years. One can hope, pray, and work, to support the newer generation in the Arab countries, who are by no means Israelophiles, but who recognized there are more important matters to deal with in their own house, and do NOT carry the baggage of "we lost the last war, we must restore our honor by winning the next one" ... or you can cast Israel into the flames just to feel good about seeing your worst prognostications come true. Rule by the Muslim Brotherhood is not a foregone conclusion.
Cabbie, you are part right. Certainly if Israel had not won the 1973 war, King Hussein and Anwar Sadat would not have offered a generous peace out of the goodness of their hearts. But there are plenty of Arab leaders who know they have better uses for their money than to spend it on fruitless wars with Israel.
Yes, a missile strike from Iran is a possibility. That may be a good argument for Israel's nuclear deterrent, Mordechai Vanunun's sincere objections notwithstanding.
Anonymous, I am responding to Gary's post, not to every empiric that may have popped into your pointed little head. Even Gary doesn't claim that the U.S. is selling tanks to Hamas, or Hezbollah, although I recall that Ronald Reagan sold the latter some missiles, partly to buy the release of some kidnapped soldiers, and partly to make some under the table money to refinance the Somoza army.
Siarlys have you considered defenestration as the answer to your personal problems?
Allah Fubar.
Anonymous, if I were in a sixth floor room with you in Prague with an available window, I might be seriously tempted. Fortunately for your longevity and my freedom, that is an unlikely scenario.
Now, did you have anything of substance to say about the subject of Gary's post, or are you just venting frustration over your inability to make the rest of us visualize your hallucinations? I really just haven't ever seen you refer to a documented fact -- only to splutter your opinions.
@Siarlys
It's interesting to note that your concept of "Israel at peace" includes ten thousand rocket and mortar rounds being fired by your islamonazi brethren into Israel and the kidnapping of Israel soldiers and the firing of an AT rocket at a schoolbus.
You're warped, but I wouldn't expect anything else from an Islamonazi apologist.
