Fox News has yet another heartwarming study out of Iran, the country that persecutes its Baha'i minority and hangs its gays. Now a Christian pastor faces death for apostasy unless he recants.

I sure hope that wacko New York rabbi from the Neturei Karta sect, Ysmoel Dovid Weiss, is reading this piece. This is the guy who came to speak at UC-Irvine on behalf of the Muslim Student Union during Israel Apartheid Week this past May. You see, Rabbi Weiss is a big patron of Mehmout Ahmadinejad and the regime in Iran because, as he puts it, they oppose the Zionist nation of Israel and they protect their Jewish minority.
The latter point is according to Rabbi Weiss. To prove his devotion to Iran, he apparently spends his vacations there-actually attending all those absurd conferences Iran holds about Holocaust denial and "counter terrorism."
When Weiss spoke at UCI, I pointed out to him those inconvenient facts about treatment of the Baha'i and gays in Iran. He gave me a long-winded answer that completely ignored the point.
So, you see, people like Weiss and his dozen or so other rabbis who belong to Neturei Karta (which opposes the existence of a Jewish state) will embrace Ahmadinejad and Iran because they also hate Israel, but supposedly protect their Jews. Never mind the Baha'i, gays, apostates and anyone who takes to the streets to protest the government. (They get shot down, as you will recall.)
The fact is that anyone who defends this regime is a disgrace. That would conclude people like Imam Alim Musa in the US, as well as George Galloway and Yvonne Ridley, the last two of whom are commentators for Iran's English-Language Press TV in the UK. To quote a tired old proverb, "Birds of a feather fly together."
But I digress. Rabbi Weiss should move to Iran and live there until they tire of him and he simply disappears.....

Yes, Ahmadinejad hates Israel, and persecutes Jews, but embraces politically convenient characters like Weiss.
Meantime, in America, Gary Fouse warns us about the dangers of America's Muslim population, while admitting that one or two are good patriotic Americans.
The common denominator: judging people by demographic identity, assuming all think and act alike, with maybe a few exceptions, rather than judging each individual on their own acts.

That is your spin, Siarlys. I don't write about the dangers of our Muslim population; I write about the ones like CAIR, Rauf, Amir Abdel Malik Ali, Wahhaj, Siddiqi and others who are either openly radical or hiding under the cloak of "being moderate". I write about the ones who have abused our hospitality by running off to join Jihad in Somalia. I write about the ones who are promoting sharia law in the US. I write about the ones who engage in hate speech.
And I don't apologize for it.
Gary, you just wrote about the Somalis running off the join the Shabab as a symptom of the implied error of letting large number of Somali refugees INTO the country at all. Don't pretend otherwise.
Iranistan has been persecuting its Jewish population practically ever since the Islamic Revolution. I used to know an Iranian Jewish woman who told me the Iranian religious police regularly shook down her and family by conducting regular clothing inspections to ensure that her, her sisters and mother were clothed according to islamic law.

I am deleting this comment. It goes a bit too far in characterizing a a particular religion, and I just don't want to be associated with that language.
