Project Gunrunner: The Operation Holder Knew Nothing About?

Here is Eric Holder on April 2, 2009 speaking at a joint US-Mexican conference in Cuernavaca. Note his reference to Project Gunrunner.

Below is Holder testifying before Congress on May 3, 2011. When asked by Rep.Darrell Issa (R-CA) when he first heard of (Operation Fast and Furious) Holder replied "probably in the last few weeks."

And as previously pointed out, Project Gunrunner was given 10 million dollars in the Stimulus Package.

"For an additional amount for ‘‘State and Local Law Enforcement Assistance’’, $40,000,000, for competitive grants to provide assistance and equipment to local law enforcement along the Southern border and in High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas to combat criminal narcotics activity stemming from the Southern border, of which $10,000,000 shall be transferred to ‘‘Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Salaries and Expenses’’ for the ATF Project Gunrunner."

The question is now whether Holder lied to Congress on May 3 when he said he learned of Operation Fast and Furious "in the past few weeks". He was asked about Fast and Furious by Issa-not Gunrunner. It has been reported that Operation Fast and Furious was an operation by ATF under the Project Gunrunner umbrella. Fast and Furious reportedly began in 2009, while Project Gunrunner began about three years earlier. If that is the case then Holder has an out.

However, it still staggers the imagination that such an operation like Fast and Furious could be carried out without the knowledge or consent of high-level DOJ officials-including the attorney general.

This Project Gunrunner boggles the mind. When one hears about the funding from the "Stimulus Package" that was written by the "Appallo Aliance" which is under the umbrella of the "Tides Foundation" a part of George Soro's organizations, makes it even more scary. Remember, Tides has a lot to do with SEIU, AFL-CEO, ACORN and Van Jones. Of course, we really need to focus on Eric Holder and his minions, which may point to the White House. Another question, didn't Obama work for ACORN, have a great time meeting with SEIU's Andy Stern, over 50 times at the White House? Wow! Vince Flynn could not have written a better novel.

Very little about this staggers the imagination. The government is huge and complex, and all kinds of things happen that all kinds of supervisors know little about, or note and forget about, or some aid writes a reference into a speech.

Barbara Lee brought congressional business to a grinding halt, briefly, when she insisted that she wanted to actually read the entire content of a bill before voting on it.
