LA City Councilwoman Janice Hahn (D) is running for Congress in a special election next week in the 36th District. She is also involved in a huge controversy over a program she has spearheaded in the LA area the past few years under the heading of gang intervention. In these program, known gang members have received tax payer money to act as gang interventionists. Problem is that many of them, while being on the payroll, have continued their gang activities. The issue has been thrown right in the middle of the election. Fox News 11 in LA has the report.
Stay tuned.

The difference between a smear campaign and a valid criticism is in the details. You haven't provided any. So far, it is all sound and fury, signifying nothing more than your frustration that her district doesn't vote like you do.
Siarlys,
I guess you didn't watch the video.
Uh, yeah, when pressed, Fox News denies ever saying that the three gang members WERE paid with tax dollars, all they did was report that the gang members SAID they were paid with tax dollars...
...Gary, you are too street-smart not to know the score here. Former gang members who sincerely WANT to pull people out of that life should be supported, and any incorrigible gang member who gets arrested is just NATURALLY going to use the name of Janice Hahn, for the same reason they will pin a murder on a person they know to be innocent -- they use any scrap of anything they hear to try to get a deal.
We could stop doing any such programs at all, because they are sometimes abused. We could check more carefully on who is qualifying for what, and be more sparing in passing out certificates of appreciation ... which most organizations pass out like water for all kinds of reasons.
But a copy of a three year old news report that the reporters insist is only repeating what a bunch of gang bangers said about his opponent?????
Doesn't this guy have anything to say for himself?
The main point in electing people to congress is, will this person vote for what I want passed and vote against what I want defeated? That's it.
