As recently reported, the French are tearing themselves to pieces over the headscarf issue for Muslim women. While all that's going on, the Brits are doing the same. It seems that many Muslim women who choose not to wear the scarf are hearing about it from within their own community. Some have been threatened with death if they don't cover up.

According to the report by the Daily Mail, the London section of Whitechapel is at the center of what is being called activity by the '"London Taliban".
Whitechapel?
Why yes, of course. That was where the Taliban's patron saint, Jack the Ripper, plied his trade a century ago.
How ironic.
So now the Bobbies have a dilemma on their hands. What do they do to protect women who are being threatened with death for not "dressing appropriately" in the eyes of the London Taliban? Are they going to protect the rights of the women in London, or, to coin a phrase from an old Elvis song, are they going to "turn their heads and simply walk away"?
Maybe now we know what set Jack off (Parden the pun.)

The police should put out the word that any intimidation of any woman over her choice of dress will be vigorously prosecuted as assault, aggravated assault, mayhem, attempted homicide, and homicide, and if any prior statements have threatened an act, that will be ipso facto evidence of premeditation.
There is no better way to sort out fanatics from the general Muslim population than by strict enforcement of generally applicable law in cases of violence.
In American, we imprison or execute men who commit honor killings, whether they are Muslim, Mormon, Roman Catholic, Protestant, Buddhist, or atheist. Britain should do the same.
This would also show up xenophobic marches by the likes of the National Front and those who objected to Cordoba house as silly. We don't need to protest Islam. We need to arrest, try, and sentence murderers as such.
