Dr Zuhdi Jasser of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy has written a brilliant article defending the King hearings and explaining the opportunity that the hearings present to Muslims of good will.

Far be it from me to add to Dr Jasser's words. I do interpret those words, however, as a challenge to the Muslim community.

Very well thought out, and very devout. As a non-Muslim native-born American citizen, I'm not sure the King hearings are necessary, appropriate, or well-intended, but if Dr. Jasser can use them as a forum to put forth the well-spoken views the appear in this link, more power to him.
They are, after all, going to happen, so some good use might as well be made of them.
