Update on Shihada

Not long ago, I posted a short story about Shihada, a little Palestinian boy who was born with a heart defect and received free heart surgery at an Israeli hospital. This was due to the efforts of Hank Dannecker's One New Heart project based in Jerusalem. Hank and his wife, Michelle, are American Christians dedicated to arranging free heart surgery to Arab and Palestinian children born with defects.  The operations are carried out at Israeli hosptitals with Israeli doctors donating their services free. Hospital costs are covered by donations. Here is Hank's update on Shihada, including a video, which I am belatedly posting.

This project does more than just save young lives. It also changes the hearts of each Palestinian and Arab family towards Jews and Christians-one family at a time. The link to One New Heart can be found at this site. This is something worth contributing to.

It is a worthwhile project. What do Kach and Ysrael Beteinyu have to say about it?

They are the parties in Israel that want to more or less "drive the Arabs into the sand." Kach was Rabbi Kahane's party -- the ones who come closest to a policy that might actually be compared to apartheid. Beteinyu is the biggest drag on any flash of intelligence Bibi Netanyahu might have about cutting a deal before the opportunity slips away.
