Keith Olbermann Too Much Even for MSNBC

It was inevitable. Even at MSNBC, Keith Olbermann had to eventually wear out his welcome. Even though he was its most-highly-rated talk show host (which was a pretty low bar), Keith proved to be too much. The reasons have not been given, but since it takes place immediately, the best bet is that he proved to be too much of an embarrassment (which is a pretty high bar for MSNBC) or he told the boss to shove it one too many times.

So Keith is back on the road again after doing what he did at ESPN-burn bridges.

MSNBC's statement was a pretty good clue.

"MSNBC thanks Keith for his integral role in MSNBC's success and we wish him well in his future endeavors."

Translation? Don't let the door hit ya in the ass on the way
out.

So, from what I understand, Ed "butter and egg man" Schultz will now be "promoted" to the prime-time slot.

I can hardly wait for Ed's first segment of "Fired up" on prime time. You know how that will go.

And who will be the 5th man/woman to fill the "void"? Anybody's guess, but here is mine:
Alan Grayson, anyone? He's another guy looking for a job. If Grayson is unavailable, I'm sure MSNBC will come up with someone from their vast stable of raw talent.

Or they could just add another hour of "Lockup" re-runs.

But if there's no more Olbermann, then how will Gary Fouse beat to death the fact that Olbermann beats things to death?

Personally, I hope that FOX hires him and they can do a "Hannity and Olbermann" show. That would be something to see - not something educational and informative, mind you, but something to see.

It'll never work, Lance. Olbermann doesn't know how to deal with people who disagree with him-face to face.

It appears that Comcast Targeted Olbermann when they recently took over MSNBC. They got him in the crosshairs and killed his job at this misguided cable network. Does this undertaking bury Olbermann? There maybe enough far-left cable channels to exhume him from this graveyard.

Did Squid actually say "crosshairs"

Did Squid actually say that a private for-profit media company "targeted" an employee because they didn't like his political views? Maybe there IS a right wing conspiracy to dominate the media!
