My favourite European, Nigel Farage, has let 'em have it again at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. This appearance is from September as Nigel gives the what-for to EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso (Portugal), as well as a few others.
Enjoy.

I'm beginning to like Farage, and this must be the first time Gary Fouse has posted anything recognizing the legitimacy of Barack Obama as a popularly elected president of the United States.
If I were a European, which I'm not, I would prefer a drastic overhaul of the "Union," to be what it can productively be, rather than a bureaucrat's dream of making it all things to all people, but, maybe it is too late to save it.
A modest economic union or free trade zone might have made sense, but a political union is becoming ridiculous. The European Union, unlike the United States of America, is, to paraphrase Andrew Jackson, a league, not a government.
I do not believe that the European Union is destined to survive. There is to much historical animosity there. It would perhaps be better strategically for the U.S. for the Union to survive in some form. At least the leading powers (UK, France, Spain, Germany and Italy) to be in lockstep (almost said goose step)on issues, but it looks like the whole thing is a experiment in a confederation that is already bursting apart.
