Funeral services were held Friday in Chicago for Cubs great Ron Santo.
It brings back memories of watching the great hitting trio of Williams, Santo and Banks. It also brings back memories of that sad day in Colton, California in 1964 when Santo was a pall-bearer helping to lay his teammate and close friend Ken Hubbs to rest.
For me, a die-hard Cub fan since 1963, Ron Santo was the center of what it means to be a Cubs fan. They may be futile, but it is a great family to be part of.
Rest in peace, Ron.
