Are the Democrats Racially Divided?

The vote to censure Charles Rangel this week seems to have caused a rift between the Congressional Black Caucus and other Democrats as evidenced by this article in Roll Call.

I thought the Democratic Party was the "champion" of the minorities. This is the party that routinely gets 80-90% of the black vote. Maybe they might want to re-think that loyalty.

Maybe, however,  it's just my opinion, but when I was working within the Department of Justice and been found to have evaded all that money income taxes, I don't think I would have been "censured". I would have been fired and prosecuted. All Rangel has to do is stand in the well of the House and listen to Nancy Pelosi chastize him.

On second thought, maybe that's worse than expulsion.

Hmmm, so you think that the Black Caucus is correct, and that African American voters should be incensed that the House dared to sanction a fine champion of The Race, like Rangel? You can be such an incoherent opportunist when it comes to race Gary. This is the road to bringing all black voters into the Republican Party? I didn't hear that John Boehner intervened on Rangel's behalf, even as a cynical ploy to win over the black vote!

Siarlys,

You still have not learned to fathom the subtleties of my nuances and rhetorical questions.

Gary, you're about as subtle as a break-dancing rhinoceros.

Your subtleties are obvious Gary:

If the Democrats cater to the Black Caucus, accuse the Democrats of catering to the Black Caucus.

If the Democrats deviate from what you believe to be the Black Agenda, accuse them of betraying black voters.

Occam's razor is such a reliable tool.
