Things Are Heating Up in France

(Hat tip to Gallia Watch)

The situation in France between Muslims and non-Muslims is not getting any better as evidenced by this report from Gallia Watch. It includes a video of a small Muslim rally in Limoges earlier this month, in which the speaker calls for Muslims to "rise up against the French scum." It is in Arabic and French, but a summary translation is included. A few days later, a demonstration was held in front of the Iranian Embassy in Paris, in which some counter-demonstrators showed up. You can read the description of the event for yourselves.

"French scum. Impure. Miscreants. Jews, Christians, Gays. They must be killed."

* Note: Gallia Watch issued a clarification to the above cartoon noting that the speaker did not state, "They must be killed".

Au contraire, Anonymous,

The Nazi- Jewish caricatures that I have often complained about used stereotyped big nose, thick lips and leering expressions showing Jews grabbing money or young aryan women. The MSU-produced caricature of Ariel Sharon at UC-Irvine used those facial features to make him look like a sterotyped, grotesque Jew.

As for the poster in question, the one important feature is the snarling, outraged expression. If you put the cartoon next to the photo or film, it's very accurate.

So I am not ashamed. The speaker should be ashamed of his hatred. The article (and I) only point it out.

Caricature is caricature.

Most caricature is free speech, even if some people find it offensive.

Some caricature is worthy of pointed denunciation, even if its not a criminal offense.
