Ohio Democrat Boss Throws F-Bomb at Obamacare Opponents

Chris Redfern is the head chingon (Excuse my language) of the Ohio Democratic Party. Here he is Monday night speaking to a group of some 40 "grizzled" steelworkers, as he called them. Guess what he thinks of us Obamacare opponents.

Redfern refuses to apologize for his remark.

Apologies are greatly over-rated. Perhaps he's not sorry.

For my part, I wouldn't throw such language at you. I happen to think you are wrong, but then, you often think I'm wrong, expect on those blessed occasions when we agree.

When people criticize the health care reform, my first response is, in 2014, I'll have medical coverage again, unless the Republicans repeal the measure, in which case, I likely will not.

It seems you want someone, anyone, else to pay for your healthcare coverage. I'm against ObamaCare for precisely those reasons. It removes the incentive for people to go and make enough, produce enough, value to pay their own way. It creates a society of people who depend on others to supply them.

Much sooner than later you will have people who won't stand for having their money, their hard earned money, confiscated and given to others. I'll choose my own charities and I am confident my charity giving is considerably more than the national average. I just hate to be forced into doing anything, like paying for coverage for someone else or buying coverage for some risk I want to assume myself. I love my freedom. I want to earn as much as I can and spend the money any way I damn well please. I don't want anyone telling me what kind of coverage to buy or what kind of coverage I have to supply to others.

The Democrats buy votes by giving benefits to their constituencies and it is one big cycle of other people's money with the bureaucracy raking their share off the top while adding to the waste and corruption in the process. They want big government control.

If the Republicans get into power they should do all they can to repeal, delay, and defund ObamaCare. A majority of the Americans were against it when it was rammed down their throats with underhanded tactics and they are still against it. Only one Democrat running for office now publicizes his vote for it and even in that instance it is only obliquely.

Sorry, Siarlys, you buy your insurance coverage and I'll buy mine. There isn't enough goods and services around to satisfy everyone's wishes. I see no rational basis for any feelings of entitlement for healthcare coverage. It would take too long time to write about everything that is wrong with the bill.

Miggie, you should come over to Alexandria sometime. I'm a big advocate of TANSTAAFL, There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch. I examined the Kaiser Family Foundation web site to determine what I might have to pay for medical coverage. It would be affordable. There might be some subsidy to it, but then, in ten years I might be a millionaire, and then I would perhaps be paying a good deal more. That would be all right too.

From June 2006 until July 2009 I had medical coverage from my employer, thanks to a union contract with the Amalgamated Transit Union. Thank God for the union! I no longer work for that company, so my coverage instantly disappeared. I'm a light user of medical coverage, and I would like to get a light policy which reflects that. I'll take low monthly premiums, high deductibles, and a health savings account I can put money into over time. Right now I have nothing at all.

You have never sounded like someone with a whole lot of money yourself, so your taxes are probably just paying your own way. They aren't taking out enough to subsidize anyone.

Miggie,

You don't want to go over to Alexandria. Trust me.
