Here is a comment I received today to one of my posts:
"Hi,
We are running a non-profit site; only for the sake of information sharing.
We visit your site regularly. Recently we came across the "Blogroll" section in your site. Since our site is also based on regular news updates, we believe it would surely help us to be more effective if we get your site’s link. We have placed your link http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/ in our site and we request you to place us in the "Blogroll" section.

My immediate reaction was to check out this site, and it sure appears to be a (recently-established) blog. So, what the Hell, I went ahead and put up a link (on a provisional basis). I note that many other blogs including conservative blogs have gotten the same message. Going to Whitehouse-org, I note that have many conservative blogs linked including my own.
While perusing the blog, it appears to be an official White House news organ-though it does not claim to be. There is the standard powder puff fare that one would find on an official White House site. This appears to be private though the articles and tone are pure "Hurray for Obama" stuff.
First, it is important to separate this from White House.gov-the gov designation would be for official government sites. I also note that this is not the Whitehouse.org site that had been previously set up to mock President Bush.
So my question is, who is Whitehouse-org and who is Jerry Thomas? Is this just another liberal blogger supporting the administration? If so, they seem to be sending a misleading message.
Or is it possible that this blog really is being run out of the White House boiler room a'la that David Axelrod operation of a year ago? And if that is the case, why are they linking people like me?
Could this be a Mark Lloyd enemies list in operation?
And while I am on the subject, who put me on the Daily Kos subscriber list today?
It's not every day I get an e-mail from Marcos Moulitsas. (Who's the wise guy?)
So, Jerry, you are on the list for now. Perhaps you could explain just exactly who you are and assure me whether or not you have an official capacity with the White House.
Looking forward for (sic) your reply.

Last I heard, www.whitehouse.com was a hard core porn site. Names mean nothing. I just got a phish in my email from an address that looked like a Western Union site, but from the content, no es posible.
I received the exact same comment on my blog, elephantsinthebluegrass.blogspot.com.I didn't link them; smelled like a rat to me.
