It is really not surprising. Anti-Semitism is rampant at the UN. The age-old blood libel has just as much currency in the Middle East as the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and even Mein Kampf, both of which are still best-sellers in the Middle East to this day.

The president of Syria, who I've read is a reasonably competent opthalmologist, as I suppose is Rand Paul, ran this number during a visit by Pope John Paul II. Its a rather tired old tale, but one Christians invented, and propagated for some 700 years before the Caliphs came to rescue the Jews from Byzantine and Visigothic persecution. Too bad Bashir doesn't study history.
Bashir knows what he believes.
Bashir knows what he SAYS. He may well BELIEVE it, although it may be just a good line his handlers in the ministry of propaganda came up with or him. He doesn't know beans about history, including Islamic history, or he wouldn't talk this kind of nonsense.
