Nancy Pelosi and "The Word"

On May 6, Nancy Pelosi spoke before the Catholic Community Conference in Washington. Her topic?

"The Word."

Is this a bunch of fluffy, religious babble? Yes. Is it any different from the kind of crap that spews from conservatives nearly all the time? No. How come you never pick on the religious absurdities of Sarah Palin? Maybe Pelosi will need a blessing against witches and vampires too, I suppose.

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

Gary, as a Christian you should not mock the Word of God or those who proclaim it.

For Lance it is a different story.

I see nothing wrong with what Nancy Pelosi said about Jesus who is "the Word".

Ingrid,

My intention was not to mock religion, but simply to illustrate that Nancy Pelosi is a dolt.

Considering that she was doing nothing more than regurgitating basic Christian doctrine, the exact opposite happened.

Lance,

"There was this guy who walked into a bar, see......."

Never mind. You would never get it.

Lance, Nancy Pelosi was NOT "regurgitating basic Christian doctrine". She repeated John 1:14 (in part), but Satan also repeated Scripture in Matthew 4:6.
Ingrid, I did not read the entire speech. The portion I found on a website claims that Nancy said "Fill it (the Word) with anything you want." Put anything into the Bible you want? Make out Jesus to be whoever you want Him to be? Unless I misunderstood your comment, it is definitely incorrect.
