Coptic Christians in Egypt-Oppressed Minority

What's going on behind the pyramids?

The below Fox News article concerns the allegation that Coptic Christian (an old Christian denomination in Egypt) are being forced into marriages-a form of sexual slavery. I had not heard this before, But I have long been aware that the Coptic community in Egypt has been subject to persecution.

I think the subject merits following. Egypt, with an aging and ailing President Mubarek is home to a lot of extremist thinking. It is also the home of the Muslim Brotherhood, an umbrella organization for numerous radical movements, which will vye for power after Mubarek is gone. It is by no means certain that this country will remain a US ally. We give a lot of money to Egypt every year for obvious reasons. If human rights is an Obama priority, we may need to rethink it in the near future.
