Random Shots in the Dark (24)

Stand aside! here comes the bulldozer.

Is it true department:

Is it true that a Jewish student in a major California university last week dropped a class because of a "hostile class atmosphere"-specifically, the constant rants about Israel-even though the course had nothing to do with the Middle East?

In the wake of the 2nd national Iraqi election-despite attempts of terrorists to stop it with bombings-is it just possible that history may judge George W Bush's Iraqi venture more favorably when it has all played out?

And doesn't it tell you who the good guys are when others try to stop elections with terrorist bombings?

Can the Democrats still call themselves the "People's Party" if they ram this health care bill down our throats in the face of every poll saying the American people don't want it?

Meanwhile, out here in California, the state is broke, and spoiled college students are taking to the streets because their goodies are being cut back. Hopefully, when they grow up, they will learn what "broke" means. If not, they'll just be Democrats.

BTW-Where was I during the Thursday "Day of Action" walk-out? I was in class, naturally.

But help is on the way. You see, Governor Katzenjammer is termed out, so after this year, he'll be gone. That's the good news. The bad news is that the next governor will probably be our past governor, good old Jerry Brown. Yes-Governor Moonbeam.

Well, why not? When he was governor, all he did was stop freeway construction, put ultra-liberal death penalty opponent Rose Bird on the State Supreme Court, make the deals with the government worker unions that are crushing the state today and fight the death penalty and Proposition 13. Just what the doctor ordered, right? Oh, and guess who his chief of staff was....

Grey Davis, the boob we recalled when Katzenjammer became governor.

But there is good news in California.

The Oscars are on tonight!!!

That's right! It's the night WE HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR.

What will the stars wear?

More importantly, I wonder who will make the biggest ass of out him/herself tonight. I'll put my Euros on Sean Penn. Here's Penn below getting an Oscar from Hugo Chavez:

Of course, there will be the heartfelt words spoken on stage about some heart-rending issue. In the audience, the cameras will catch some actress babe with her hands clasped and such a concerned look on her face as if she's about to burst into tears.

"........ the CHILDREN."

So who's the maitre'D tonight? Alec Baldwin!!?? (Well, he has certainly earned the honor this year, hasn't he?) Will we hear any nasty jokes about our current commander-in-chief? Don't hold your breath.

As for me, I've got a good book to read.

"Good news, mein Fuehrer. The Oscars are on tonight."
