Sociologist Harry Reid on Domestic Abuse

Here is that noted sociologist Harry Reid on Monday explaining to his colleagues in the Senate why we need that big jobs bill in order to solve the problem of domestic abuse.

You see, according to the learned Senator, when a man doesn't have a job, he comes home and beats his wife. When the government gives the man a job, he stops beating his wife. It's all very simple.

That's right. That's why we need to pass the jobs bill.

It looks to me like Senator Reid is laying the groundwork for a new career when he is defeated in November. He can always pick up a teaching gig at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas in the sociology department.

On second thought, he has a better future with his sons as a lobbyist on K Street.

When I was out of work, I certainly beat my wife quite a bit.

(Just kidding...calm down.)

You know, I never realized it but I guess the reason I never beat my wife was I always had a job.
