Where is George? (Cont)

I just checked out the Viva Palestina website to see where George Galloway and his caravan were. It's all very confusing, but apparently, he is somewhere in Syria trying to load his stuff onto a boat and sail it somewhere back in Egypt, where the Egyptians may let him cross into Gaza, except those pesky Israelis are conducting naval exercises in the area, so......

Below we see George being denied entry into Gaza from Egypt.

(Tip of the hat to the late-great Don Martin, who, unfortunately, never met George Galloway.)

Here is the proposed route from the VP website.

Now I'm no expert when it comes to Middle East geography, though I was in Cairo once. Nevertheless, I think I can recognize a circle when I see one.

"Uhhh......yeaaaah."

Here is a message from the web site from one of George's "fellow-travelers" to the fans back home:

"The boats were loaded with aid today and ready to leave for AL Arish, the plan was that we would meet them there, as we would fly to Al Arish and arrive before the boats.

However, the update is that the Israelis have just announced that they will be performing military operations in these waters and therefore the aid has no way of passing through these waters.

So there is no point getting flights to Al Arish tomorrow as the aid wont be arriving. Of course, it now seems highly unlikely that we will get to the Rafah crossing between the 3rd and 6th when Egypt said the gates would be open to us. The Convoy is now brought to a total standstill. The Israelis have pulled a very dirty tactic here if what we are hearing is true. For now this is all we are hearing. More updates when we get them.

Derry to Gaza Team"

Before you get on one of those boats, George, you might want to consult with your pal Cynthia McKinney. She knows a thing or two about shipwreaks.

Other than that, the voyage is going swimmingly. Here is a photo of Galloway during a "stopover" in Amman with Muslim Brotherhood leader Hamam Said.

I see George is looking a little ragged, but that's nothing new.

There's no telling where this voyage could end, maybe where it all started-back at UC-Irvine. I understand there's some folks in Southern California who would like George to tell them what all their contributions went for.
