Today, President Obama (back from Hawaii) announced that his intelligence agencies screwed up and that the "dots were not connected". This followed a meeting the President held with his top security chiefs in the wake of the Christmas attempted attack on a Northwest Airlines flight over Detroit.
The President was clearly unhappy and unsatisfied with the performance of his intelligence and security agencies. The meeting with his top aides was behind closed doors, but it seems that everybody got their you-know-whats chewed.
So who got fired, you ask?
Heh, heh. Well, nobody. Same old team, folks, Hillary Clinton (BTW, we learn today that James Riady, the old Clinton contributor, is back in the US with a new visa, but I am digressing), Janet Napolitano and all the rest still enjoy the president's full confidence.
But there is good news. Everybody can now look forward to those full body scanners, which will apparently make Michael Chertoff a wealthy man, and best of all......
no more Gitmo detainees will be sent back to Yemen!!

Nexus between immigration reform and counterterrorism.
Nigerians have a well deserved reputation for employing scam/sham marriages to get visas in order to enter the US. That sounds like a ready-made scenario for Al-Qaeda to exploit on a wholesale basis. Shouldn't someone at CIA or Homeland Security be looking into that practice more intensly in light of the the most recent attempt at terrorism! The Nigerian marriage scam is common knowledge yet I've not heard a word mentioned about it anywhere in the media! What gives!
