Wednesday's Bombing in Afghanistan

Wednesday, we lost eight more Americans in Afghanistan, apparently seven of whom were CIA officers. In a separate incident, five Canadians, four soldiers and a journalist, were killed by a bombing in Afghanistan. I mourn for every soldier, law enforcement officer and intelligence officer we lose, and this is no exception. The CIA takes a lot of abuse, but the fact remains that in trouble places like Afghanistan, they are also there fighting the good fight for their country.

As is routine, we don't even know their names, and at CIA Hqs in Langley, Virginia, only stars will be placed on their Wall of Honor. Nevertheless, this country should honor their memories and support the war they have fought.

We should also honor the memories of our Canadian allies in the War on Terror.
