Interview of Ayaan Hirsi Ali by Avi Lewis

I came across this interview of Ayaan Hirsi Ali (a Somali apostate from Islam and writer) by liberal journalist Avi Lewis in 2007. Lewis, a Canadian broadcaster for Al-Jazeera, is married to another leftist writer, Naomi Klein. In this interview with Ali, which is not really in-depth, Lewis tries to refute her warnings about radical Islam. Watch as Ali calmly beats back Lewis' arguments.

The way I see this exchange (admittedly through my own lens) is a courageous woman, who lives under an Islamist death threat, being challenged by this liberal guy. She is not in the least fazed or intimidated, but with grace and dignity, answers his questions and disarms him intellectually.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali. One of my heroes.
