Form Letter From Senator Dianne Feinstein Regarding Ft Hood

"Happy holidays."

Below is a correspondence that a friend and colleague of mine has received from Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) in response to a letter my friend had sent her regarding his concerns over the Ft Hood case and current status of the investigation. (I have omitted his name and e-mail address.)
---------------------------------------------------------------------

"Dear Mr.____________,

I received your letter and want to thank you for contacting me to express your concerns about the November 5, 2009 shooting at Fort Hood.

I share your grief for the 13 Americans who were killed, and the dozens who were wounded. Major Nidal Hasan, a U.S. Army psychiatrist, has been charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder. I recognize that there are many concerns about what could have been done to prevent the assault at Fort Hood, and whether the shooting may have been an act of terrorism or motivated by religious extremism.

Several reviews of this incident are underway. The President has ordered a full investigation of the shooting to learn whether federal agencies properly utilized intelligence on Major Hasan. The Pentagon is reviewing military procedures to understand how internal threats and warning signs are identified and communicated. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has also initiated an independent investigation led by Judge William H. Webster, a former director of the FBI and Central Intelligence Agency. Additionally, the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs has started an inquiry on Major Hasan and the circumstances that led to this incident.

As Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, I will thoroughly review the information that these investigations produce to understand why the shooting at Fort Hood occurred, and what might have been done to prevent it. Protecting our soldiers is absolutely critical, and I will be looking for lessons that can be learned about U.S. intelligence collection and analysis programs in this regard.

Again, thank you for writing. Please do not hesitate to contact my Washington, D.C. office at (202) 224-3841 if you have any additional thoughts on this matter.

Also, may I take this opportunity to wish you a happy and healthy holiday season. And may 2010 be a good year for us all.

Sincerely yours,

Dianne Feinstein
United States Senator"

Can you say "form letter"? I wonder who else out there has written to Senator Feinstein and gotten the same response-word for word. By the way. Senator Feinstein is not the only politician my friend has written to, but she is the only one so far to respond (kind of).
