Many critics of Islam point to the Prophet Mohammed and his marriage to Aisha, who was some 9 years old at the time. While doing some research on hadiths (the reported sayings and deeds of Mohammed), I came across an article in defense of Mohammed written by an Islamic scholar regarding this very issue. In the interest of being fair to all sides, I am linking it here without comment.
