The Reid Health Care Bill and the Louisiana Purchase

Senator Mary Landrieu (D) LA

If you have wondered how bills are passed in Congress, you might want to follow the up-coming (late Saturday night) vote on Harry Reid's Senate Health Care Bill. The vote stands to be close, and Democratic Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu is sitting on the fence. Reid desperately needs her vote. Here is how he is trying to get it.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/2009/11/the-100-million-health-care-vote.html

Within this 2,000-page document are two pages which will devote $100 million in Medicaid funds to "those states" who have been declared a disaster area in the past 7fiscal years. After all the bureaucratic legalese is concluded, it means only one state qualifies for that 100 million dollars. That would be Mary Landrieu's Louisiana (remember Katrina?)

That's how it's done, folks. And it's our money.

So my question is to Senator Landrieu. Now that, thanks to ABC News, we know that the (legal) bribe is out there, are you going to take it-in full view of the American people?

This, ladies and gentleman, is the government health care bill being hatched.
