Chicago Seven, Move Over. Here Come the New York Five

"Death to the pigs!"

"Death to the Infidels!"

No, I am not comparing folks like Abby Hoffman, Bobby Seale, Tom Hayden and Jerry Rubin to Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his four co-jihadists. What I am comparing is the upcoming New York trial to the circus that took place in Chicago as a result of the 1968 Democrat convention riots. In Chicago, defendants were so unruly, Judge Julius Hoffman had them handcuffed to their chairs and their mouths taped.

Is there any doubt that New York will be subjected to the same spectacle?

Of course, our esteemed attorney general has no clue about what is coming. Testifying this week before a Senate sub-committee, he has made a fool of himself. Asked by Senator Lindsey Graham to name a precedent case of a enemy combatant captured on the battlefield being tried in a civilian court, he hemmed and hawed until Senator Graham told him there was no precedent. Asked what would happen if the defendants were acquitted, again, he had no answer other than "failure is not an option."

Holder: "What I told the prosecutors and what I will tell you is that failure is not an option. These are cases that have to be won," Holder said. "I don't expect that we will have a contrary result."

That is very reassuring. Almost as reassuring as watching Holder's testimony.
