Mike Duvall Update

(Former) California State Assemblyman Mike Duvall (R-Yorba Linda)

"You've been a bad lobbyist!"

Last month, I posted an article about now-resigned California Assemblyman Mike Duvall (R-Yorba Linda), who was caught on an open mike (in July) telling a colleague about his recent conquests, one of which was a lobbyist who Duvall was spanking (see above). When the tape surfaced in September, Duvall resigned and has disappeared from public view.

Today, on the John and Ken radio talk show (640 am) in Los Angeles, it was reported that the FBI has now entered into the "affair" and is asking questions.

According to news reports, the lobbyist in question is 36-year-old Heidi Barsuglia, a lobbyist for the privately-owned utilities giant Sempra energy company.

At the time in question, Duvall was vice chairman of the Assembly's Committee on Utilities and Commerce and was often seen in Barsuglia's company in Sacramento.

In addition, Sempra reportedly contributed $1,500 to Duvall's campaign fund. Subsequently, in May 2009, Duvall adopted Sempra's opposition to Assembly Bill 64, which proposed an increase in the percentage of electricity that utilities would have to obtain from "environmentally-sensitive" sources (OC Weekly).

So, the question is.....has Mike been a bad boy?

I guess that's why the FBI is asking questions.
