Jeremiah Wright: "Them Jews Ain't Going to Let Him Talk to Me"
On June 9, Jeremiah Wright spoke to a news reporter from Virginia's Daily Press at a ministers conference in Hampton, Virginia about his current relationship with Barack Obama. When asked if he had had recent contact with Obama, Wright responded; "Them Jews ain't going let him talk to me."
"Them Jews ain't going to let him talk to me .... He's got to do what politicians do. And the Jewish vote, the AIPAC vote that's controlling him, that will not let him send representation to the Darfur Review Conference, that's talking this craziness on Israel because they're Zionists, they will not let him talk to somebody who calls a spade what it is. Ethnic cleansing is going on in Gaza—the ethnic cleansing of the Zionists is a sin and a crime against humanity."
Leaving aside what a despicable character this sorry excuse for a man of God is, how many members of the elite media have asked President Obama about his reaction to Wright's words? Or is that simply old news that was addressed during the election? Note how Wright goes from the "Jews" who are keeping him and Obama apart to the Israel-Gaza-Zionism issue. Is this another example of how anti-Zionism is a thinly-veiled veneer for anti-Jew hatred? Is this another example of the "new anti-Semitism", an off-shoot of the opposition to Israel that spills over into condemnation of American Jews-simply for being Jews? In my view-yes.
Why is it that some forms of hate are block-buster news stories while other forms of hate "have no legs" as they say in the news business? Is it becoming acceptable once again to utter anti-Semitic words and talk about how the "Jews control America-control the world"?
Jeremiah Wright is a bitter old man who makes a mockery of his religion, a religion which I share. He is a disgrace, and his long relationship with President Obama should never cease to be an issue for public discussion.

What's next, another post about Bill Ayers?
I have an idea for one: Hannity and O'Reilly try to find the missing museum shooting!
Bryan,
That is the problem. You think that Wright is old news and we have been through all that. Then, Wright comes back from under his rock and says something outrageous, and I am supposed to ignore it. This latest outburst proves once and for all that he is a bigoted man.
As for Hannity and O'Reilly, are you watching their shows every night and listening to their radio shows every day to ensure that they are not mentioning the museum shooting? What is your basis for saying that? Is it something that someone on the left told you?
I read about Hannity and O'Reilly online, on a few different sites. That was on Friday. They (Hannity and O'Reilly) take the weekends off as far as I know. I don't watch their TV shows (don't have cable, think it's waste of money), but I'm pretty sure that you watch them. So tell me, have you seen them discuss the shooting at all on their TV shows? Perhaps these two powerhouses of the mainstream media need some help from your blog, as you've done in the past? It's another case of a missing story!
Bryan,
You read about them online, did'ya? Daily Kos or Huffington Post perhaps? You don't watch their shows, but you say they have not discussed the Holocaust shooting.
They have. They have discussed all three shootings and their implications.
Gary, I have been in California for two weeks now, it seems only my conservative right wing friends pay attention to what Jeremiah Wright is saying, my friends who are more liberal take him for the fool and bigot he is. What does that say?
I certainly think he is best to be ignored.
Ingrid,
Same response as to your question about the woman in Arkansas. In this climate of hatred going on and the resurgence of anti-Jewish feeling, I cannot ignore an anti-Semitic remark made by this influencial jerk. (And he does have a following including you-know-who) Without trying to equate Wright with Hitler, a lot of people chose to ignore the rants of Hitler in the 1920s-1930s. More People should have been standing up to him and exposing him for what he was.
