Pacifism in the face of evil doesn't bring peace.

Hitler Enters Prague

Pacifism in the face of evil brings slavery.

Berlin 1945

What brings peace is a just and successful war.

Ain't that the truth!

Tell it to Gandhi and Martin Luther King. Oh, and that other guy...what's his name again? That one who started that religion of which you claim to be a follower? Walked on water, healed the sick, put demons into a herd of pigs...

Who would Jesus bomb, eh?

And please, enough with the Nazi references. It's becoming cliche, and when something becomes cliche, it loses all meaning. Come on, or I'm going to invent the Fousesquawk drinking game:

Comparing Hamas to Hitler: 2 shots
References to William Ayers: 2 shots
Calling Olbermann a dobermann: 1 shot

Hmmm...I think I've got something here.

Lance,

Gandhi and MLK fought against injustice, not Hitler. Had the Palestinians used their methods, they would have had their state long ago.

It is important to remember that MLK and Gandhi were dealing with the UK and USA respectively, two decent states that had the ability to correct injustices through the legal system when they were confronted with wrongs.

That is not the system we are dealing with here. Hitler was determined to rid germany, Europe and eventually the world of Jews. Hamas has in its Islam-inspired charter, its aim to wipe Israel out. MLK and Gandhi would never have gotten out of the batter's box against that, let alone to first base.

And as for that drinking game. Get ready to get real drunk.

I'm just arguing with your assertion that "what brings peace is just and successful war".

As for the US and UK being "decent" states, tell that to all the victims of lynching. As far as they were concerned, there was nothing "decent" about it. I could give other examples, of course.

Hey, I was just reading the morning paper, and in the opinion section there was somebody who was making the Nazi comparison. Only this person was comparing Israel to the Nazis while drawing parallels to Gaza and the ghettos in which Jews were forced to live.

Know what I think? I think that there are about 5000 years of recorded human history, but it seems like all we have is what covers the time between 1933 and 1945.

Actually, the person pointed out how the Jews, once relocated to the ghetto, did indeed resort to carrying out "terrorist" attacks.

I do agree though. It is a poor comparison, but I don't think that yours is much better.
