At the recent rally against Israel in Ft Lauderdale, a young woman in a hijab has been caught on tape shouting at counter-protesters, "Go back to the ovens!" "You need a bigger oven!" Similarly, at a recent anti-Israel rally in front of the Israeli Consulate in Los Angeles on January 6, a couple of young men in kaffiyas are seen on tape yelling, Long Live Hitler", "Hitler Rest in peace", "Jews are fossil fuel", Put Jews in the ovens", and "Hey, Jews, F---them", as others laughed and whooped it up.

No matter how you feel about the current Israel-Palestinian conflict, you have to stop and wonder about much of the rhetoric coming from the Palestinian supporters at rallies taking place in the US. While the Arab/Muslim community is speaking out strongly about the recent events, they are also being aided and abetted by the radical American groups like A.N.S.W.E.R., as well as other anarchistic and socialistic groups, but it seems that the Middle Easterners are using expecially inciteful rhetoric. I think it is time that America's Muslim community be asked a simple question; do you hate Jews?
And why not ask them that question? Expressions of Jew hatred can be found in the Qu'ran and Hadiths. It is a known fact (though not reported in the media) that Mein Kampf is a best seller in the Middle East to this day. Hitler is indeed revered by millions of Muslims. Now we have the ugly specter of some Muslim demonstrators spouting the vilest expressions of Jew hatred ever heard-using none other than Adolf Hitler as an inspiration. It is also a fact (also ignored by the media) that almost one million Jews were driven from Arab lands after 1948. Few still live in Muslim countries today.
This is a topic that cannot be ignored or swept under the rug. If anti-Semitism in America is on the rise and being fueled by recent Muslim immigrants (and their children), it must be addressed directly-including by our president, who needs to speak out on this issue. Muslims must understand that we are not willing to allow them to import their ancient hatred of Jews into our country and stoke the fires of hate on our soil. Anti-Semitism, while it has historically shown itself on our shores, is not an American value. And as former Australian Prime Minister John Howard publicly told the Muslim community in his country a few years back, "if you cannot assimilate and accept our values-then leave."
There is absolutely no room in the US for these kinds of expressions directed toward our Jewish citizens. History has shown us where it can lead.

What do you expect? Last time I checked, the media report on current events, not history. That's not to diminish what happened, I'm just saying I don't see much of a point of saying that the media "ignore" it. Maybe you should be complaining to the History Channel instead (or as I like to call it, the Hitler Channel)?
Anyways, you're going to get a more radical fringe in any cause. Most people are in the middle. I've also read plenty of stuff about some Jews in the U.S. teaching their children that Palestinians are subhuman. Again, that's the fringe, but I want to point it out to show you that there is a fringe on both sides, and that it doesn't represent the beliefs of the majority.

I would say the History Channel used to be called the Hitler Channel. Now I would call it the Modern marvels Channel.
I don't know where you read about US Jews teaching their kids that Palestinians are sub-human. In all my encounters with Jews, I have never witnessed that.
I read the piece in New University. I don't know the young lady, and I have no quarrel with her. At UCI, it seems that most of the Jewish students just want to get along. They don't seem to be as fierecly attached to this issue as the Muslim students-for better or worse.
Actually, one thing I have learned from my Jewsish friends when I discuss this issue is the fact that as a community, they are quite fractured-both as to Israel and how to deal with what goes on at UCI.

Regarding Matt, why don't you try actually discussing the merits of the argument rather than making a sweeping dismissal and creating a charicature of who the writer of the article is?
It's easy to call something nonsensical. It's another thing to explain why it actually IS nonsensical.

I'm just saying that you're awfully patronizing to Bryan when you use the "he's still young" argument. I'm about ten years older than him, and I find myself agreeing with him more than I do you. Also, would you believe that I've met some old liberals?
Anyway, it's dismissive. After all, have you ever considered that MAYBE he's right and has more facts at his side than you do?
The "old man" thing was the equivalent argument. I wouldn't pull that one on you in a serious sort of a way, but that's how the young dismiss the old when they don't want to actually do any thinking either.
And as for how "young" I am, and how much I'll change - I'm not one for making predictions. However, I still feel that in order to be a "conservative," I'm going to have to start oversimplifying things and forgetting stuff that I know is true.
