The Muslim Brotherhood in Belgium (3)

As previously reported, the recent release of a French intelligence document describing the threat of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) in France has led neighboring countries to reexamine their own problem with the presence of the MB in their own countries.

The article below from RTL Info (Belgium) describes the problem of MB infiltration in Belgium, naming 4 associations tied to the MB.

This is the latest in our series of translations of original European articles describing the activities of the MB in Europe and the third such article on Belgium. It is translated from French by Fousesquawk.

"Their ultimate aim is the worldwide caliphate.": How does the Muslim Brotherhood infiltrate itself into Belgium?

A French report puts the spotlight on the infiltration of the Muslim Brotherhood in Belgium via NGOs, mosques, and (political) parties.

The Muslim Brotherhood organization was born in Egypt in 1928. The movement has been penetrating Europe since the 1960s.

What is their ideology? "Everything will be ruled by Islamic laws," responds Fadila Maaroufi, director of the Fundamentalism Observatory. "Their ultimate plan and their ultimate goal is the worldwide caliphate."

Outside of Europe, the Brotherhood uses violence. Here, however, the Brotherhood employs another means of propagating their idea of political Islam: Entryism.

A strategy of infiltration

What is "entryism" exactly? "It is a strategy of infiltration of public institutions, of political parties," explains Islamologue, Mohamed Fahmi. "They will never tell you, at least publicly, 'I am a Muslim Brother'. There are elected officials and deputies who are close to people who are found in the movement, " he claims.

According to the French report on the Muslim Brotherhood, 200 people are (located) in Belgium. The sites infiltrated by the movement are NGOs, mosques, political parties, and universities.

Four associations are singled out in Brussels. The League of Muslims in Belgium, FEMYSO, the Collective for Inclusion and Against Islamophobia in Belgium (CIIB), and the Federation of Islamic organizations in Europe. All are reportedly tied to the Muslim Brotherhood.

A danger to social cohesion

What are the risks for Belgium? The report says very clearly, (that) it is ( a risk) to social cohesion," Mohamed Fahmi tells us. The Muslim Brotherhood is a reactionary movement. They will promote a form of homophobia. They will promote a form of misogeny. They will promote community withdrawal and gender-segregated spaces.

The CIIB is a revival in Brussels of an association banned and dissolved in France. The Minister of Interior acknowledges the problem. If we take a measure somewhere, and in effect, the problem is displaced, that doesn't help," Bernard Quintin tells us in response. "We are going to proceed as soon as possible. I hope to be able to come up with a bill before the end of the year."

The minister wants to put in place a law that will allow the banning of dangerous, radical organizations. Meanwhile, state security (agencies) are monitoring the concerned persons.
