Bangkok Update: UN Declares Saudi Girl a Refugee

The case of a Saudi girl holed up in Bangkok and trying to make it to Australia has seen a very positive development. The UN agency for refugees has examined her case and declared her to be a legitimate refugee. It is now in Australia's court to grant her asylum, which they clearly should do.

It isn't that often that we can praise an action by the UN. But can you imagine the UN refusing her refugee status while they promote the refugee status of so many hundreds of thousands of people who are migrating for other reasons?
