Yisroel Dovid Weiss: Crackpot rabbi

Anti-Semites and other assorted crackpots descended on Seattle to hold another one of those obnoxious Al Quds Days. (Al Quds is the Arabic name for Jerusalem.) My friends at the Seattle-based blog, The MIke Report were there to take photos of the circus. In addition, none other than Israel-hating rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss was there with his fellow kooks from the Neturei Karta sect.

I had my own encounter with Weiss when he came to speak at UC Irvine in May 2011 as part of the annual Muslim Student Union's week of anti-Israel hate. At that time I pointed out his connections with Iran and asked him why he supported a regime that persecuted the Baha'i. He gave me a long-winded diatribe, but he never addressed the question. The MSU edited the exchange to include only his diatribe and labeled it as him putting the questioner in his place.

Orthodox Jews don't care about the Ba'hai. They are a false faith twice removed. Deep down, they may think the same about Protestant Christianity, but Protestants created a safe space for Jews in North America, which they call a kingdom of kindness. There were two caliphates that served the same purpose for a time.
