The Iranian Drone Attack-Withheld Until After the Election?

On November 1, the Iranians fired at an unarmed American drone flying in international waters. The
incident was not made public until two days after the election.

"But Fousesquawk, it was classified information."

Yes, but so was the operation that killed  Bin Laden, yet the White House didn't waste any time revealing most of the details of that to the public-including giving access to favored movie producers.

"So what are you suggesting, Fousesquawk, that we go to war?"

Persih the thought, but whether we want it or nor or like it or not, we are in a collision course with Iran. We can wait until they get their nuclear weapons and bomb Israel or we can wait until some terrorists set off a dirty bomb in one of our cities (Made in Iran).

To quote that famous old Fram Oil Filter, "You can pay me now, or you can pay me later."

Too bad our children will never know that at one time, not that long ago, we were a great military power and a great country.

Nobody would have dared fired at us without really worrying about the consequences. It is obvious that Obama is a weak leader. The Islamists view us as a paper tiger. Time after time we ignore insults and act in a cowardly manner. No wonder Iran thumbs its nose at us and builds nuclear weapons and now challenges us militarily.

We should bomb the jet bases that those two came from and then see if Iran wants to escalate the conflict. We should station a couple carriers nearby and some troops offshore. I doubt if we will have anymore challenges from them. Then again, if Obama cuts our military capability, we won't have that option.

Miggie: "This election can't come soon enough." Well, it has come. Satisfied?

P.S. What do you think we are going to finance our military with: more deficits? When you want to be taken seriously, let us know how much additional taxes you are willing to pay to finance this (without borrowing it from the National Bank of China).

If this is a duplicate post, I apologize out front.

Siarlys--we are already financing government, to include the military, with more deficits and then even more deficits, already borrowing extensively from the National Bank of China. Have been for some time and looks like it will continue for even more time.

Why do you apparently never think of, or suggest, that we pay for stuff through spending cuts rather than additional taxes?? What Miggie suggested would be only a drop in the bucket as a function of the total Federal budget.

The kind of military spending Miggie is talking about is NOT a drop in the bucket.

I have essentially the same question for tax cutters and spending increasers:

Tell me EXACTLY what you proposed to cut from program to pay for the tax cuts?

Tell me EXACTLY which taxes will be raised in order to pay for the new program?

Nobody has any credibility who speaks of "spending cuts" without specifying which spending, either.
