On June 24, 2012, Dr Maher Hathout of the Muslim Public Affairs Council spoke at St John's Episcopal Church in Los Angeles, sponsored by the Guibord Center. Below is my initial report on that event.

The Guibord Center has now posted the video of that event, which lasted 2 hours.
Shortly after the 18-minute mark, I asked Dr Hathout about the penalty for apostasy under sharia law, specifically when the apostate also speaks out publicly against Islam.
Shortly after the 39-minute mark, another member of the audience asks Hathout about the Freedom Pledge, a letter sent to 100 Muslim leaders in America in 2009 by Former Muslims United asking them to sign a pledge stating that American Muslim apostates should not be harmed. When he stated he never received it, I walked up to the desk where Dr Hathout was seated and gave him a copy of the letter, which was addressed to him. Hathout stated that he would read the letter, and if it was not insulting to Islam, he would sign it.
When and if Dr Hathout signs the letter, I will report it.

Don't hold your breath Gary. He will sign the letter when Hell Freezes Over. And I haven't seen the Devil with a fur coat on yet.
I know. But his failure to sign will be duly noted.
Neither have I, but I have seen the Devil wearing a blue dress, along with pearls and a diamond ring.
