Labor Secretary Hilda Solis Protects Illegal Workers

Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis is a union gal from California, and when she was appointed Labor Secretary, it was clear whose interests she would represent in Washington. Now she has taken it a step further. Who is it that the Secretary of Labor wants to protect?

American worker jobs?

Think again. No, Hilda Solis is bound and determined to protect the rights of workers-who are in this country illegally.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/08/31/labor-department-agreements-protect-illegal-workers/

Go figure.

Meanwhile back in California, the state senate in Sacramento has voted (along strict party lines) in favor of AB 131 that would make tax-payer funds available to illegal alien college kids for tuition assistance or scholarships. It now goes back to the Assembly and then on to Governor Brown's desk for signature. Thus, if you are an American citizen or legal resident alien in California saving money to put your own kid in a California college-you would now pay for financial assistance to illegal alien kids to go to college.

Go figure.

The DOJ Housing Section-Pajamas Media Expose

Hat tip to Pajamas Media

In a continuing series by Pajamas Media, we now can examine the political hires of Eric Holder's Justice Department-in this case-the Housing Section. As expected, they all have far-left resumes.

http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/every-single-one-the-politicized-hiring-of-eric-holder%e2%80%99s-housing-section/

Do you wonder why this Justice Department dropped the case against the New Black Panther Party, who intimidated whites showing up to vote at a Philadelphia polling place? Do you wonder why this DOJ is fighting against the state of Arizona's effort to apprehend illegal aliens?

Justice should not be ideological.

Fast and Furious-A Fast and Furious Coverup?

Below are two articles on the latest developments on Operation Fast and Furious, the scandalous operation by ATF to monitor the diversion of guns into Mexico-not intercept, mind you-monitor. Presently, the DOJ is trying to lay the blame on rogue elements of the ATF and save their own political officials from embarrassment.

http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/gunwalker-ken-melson-reassigned/

Below is the latest from Michele Malkin on Operation Fast and Furious:

http://michellemalkin.com/2011/08/31/screw-up-move-up-cover-up-fast-and-furious-edition/

This is not the Justice Department I worked for. Even under Janet Reno, I never saw anything like this. This is another reason why Obama must be defeated in 2012. This bunch that has been brought into the Justice Department has to be swept out. There is a major political scandal out there (wake up news media) -a scandal that has cost some 150 Mexican lives and the lives of two Border Patrol agents. It is unbelievable that Janet Napolitano and Alan Bersin (the boss of the Border Patrol) are not demanding a full investigation and asking why two of their agents are dead because of this insane venture.

Another Outrage From a Member of the Congressional Black Caucus

A few days ago, Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN) told a Miami crowd that people from the Tea Party wanted to see black people hanging from a tree.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/08/31/rep-carson-tea-party-wants-to-see-black-americans-hanging-on-tree/

Carson is another member of the Congressional Black Caucus, that anachronistic group in Congress that is always playing racial politics. This is the third incident of nasty rhetoric coming from  the CBC in the past couple of weeks. At what point do we say to the Carsons, Maxine Waters' and Frederica Wilsons that is they who are the racists? And where is our leader,Ppresident Obama, speaking out on this garbage? He is The One who was going to bring us together. Remember after the Giffords shooting in Arizona when certain voices were calling for a return to civility in our political discourse?

The reason the Tea Party movement sprang up has nothing to do with race; it has everything to do with the out-of-control size and abuses of power of our government. Allen West, who is mentioned in this article, is one of the favorite elected officials of the Tea Party movement as are Marco Rubio and Herman Cain.

These accusations are just plain sickening.

Here We Go Again

Above-One of the arrestees in police custody
Heigh ho, heigh ho. It's off to jail they go.

When I saw this bit of film, I thought I was watching a new episode of Jersey Shore. You can't make this stuff up, folks. Amusement park, women wearing hijabs not allowed on the roller-coaster, fights, cops injured. Here you go, reality show fans.

I'll bet Pauly and Snooki were in the middle of it.

Oh, by the way; here is a related story coming out of Australia, which may help explain why an amusement park tries to regulate what you wear on certain rides.

Regarding That Report by Center for American Progress and Sermon by Hussam Ayloush

Yesterday, I posted a sermon by CAIR (LA) head Hussam Ayloush on the topic of sharia law. I also recently posted the paper put out by the Center for American Progress on Islamophobia. My friend and colleague, Karen Lugo, has posted an excellent response to both on Townhall. Below is Lugo's article in Townhall.

http://townhall.com/columnists/karenlugo/2011/08/30/fear,_inc_exposes_the_real_cowards

When I posted the Ayloush sermon at the Orange County Islamic Center, I chose to let his words stand without editorial comment and asked whether the reader/listener felt that any concerns about sharia had been assuaged. Lugo goes much farther and points out the obvious gender segregation in the mosque. She also describes the much criticized Yorba Linda protest from last February and how CAIR manipulated the videos to highlight the inappropriate conduct of certain  hecklers who showed up uninvited. The impression was created that the organizers and speakers were encouraging such behavior. (Both Lugo and I spoke-she was the MC. ) I can state in no uncertain terms that no speaker encouraged the actions of the hecklers. The intent of the protest was to highlight the two radical featured speakers brought to Yorba Linda by the Islamic Circle of North America-which is NOT a moderate organization in spite of their claims. Moderate organizations do not invite Siraj Wahhaj and Amir Abdel Malik Ali to speak.

As for the CAP article, I have already critiqued it on this site. Suffice to say, this is another example of the left linking arms with Islamists who aim to paint anyone who has concerns about minor issues like world-wide Islamic terrorism and the presence of stealth jihadists in our midst as right-wing, white Christian bigots who can't tolerate other religions. Strange that immigrant Buddhists who come to America-and there are plenty-have none of the problems that Muslims complain about. Why is that? Nevertheless, the anti-jiohadist movement in the West is constantly having to defend itself against charges of "Islamophobia" -however you choose to define it. For me, the line is clear; it is not against Muslims as a people or the right to practice their religion. It is about standing guard against the radical elements who wish to do us harm and/or impose their religion on others-most notably the more controversial aspects, which do infringe on others' rights as Americans. Like this one:

http://www.assistnews.net/Stories/2011/s11080141.htm

Norwegian Report from Dagen

http://www.dagen.no//Nyheter//Innenriks/tabid/248/Default.aspx?ModuleId=73598&articleView=true

You see, Mr Ayloush, it is aspects of sharia like this that we have concerns about. To express those concerns does not mean we hate Muslims as a people. Quite the contrary. We don't want even Muslim immigrants to be subjected to this kind of treatment. What happened in Norway was surely a crime under Norwegian law. It still happened to this unfortunate man because he was exercising a fundamental right that is recognized in Europe as well as in America-the right to change one's religion. We don't want to see any women- including American Muslim women- to be killed by members of their family because they didn't conform to certain rules of behavior such as happened to the girl in Arizona or the wife in Buffalo who wanted to divorce her husband. (Both were murdered) We don't want to see our gays dragged back to the old days when they had to live secret lives. The penalty for homosexuality in America is not death. There is no penalty for being homosexual in America. We intend to keep it that way.

Of course, Mr Ayloush assures us that Muslims are instructed to obey the laws of whatever country they live in; thus, sharia is not threat to us because of our Constitution. Some people have not gotten the word, unfortunatel;y.

We also know that laws can change. More than one Supreme Court justice has indicated a willingness to consider foreign law in reaching decisions. Sharia has already inserted itself into Muslim communities in England. That is why so many states are passing laws preventing any future intrusion of sharia (and foreign laws) into our legal system. Some people understand what the long range goals of organizations like CAIR and ICNA truly are.

That is not bigotry.

ATF Acting Director Reassigned to Paper Clips Division

It looks like Eric Holder's Justice Department is throwing the sacrifial lambs overboard as they try to protect their political honchos deep in DOJ.

Celebrity Endorsements-Barney Frank for Maalox

Barney Frank here to speak to you about a very important product-especially for you politicians that go on TV all the time to speak down to the masses. Maalox.

You know, there aren't too many things I do well, but when it comes to sh-----' and fartin'-I'm a champ. However, there are those times when you need to hold it in-like when you're being interviewed live on MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Show. (They have standards, you know.) Just recently, I made the mistake of appearing on Rachel's show just after I had run out of Maalox. Here's what happened.

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2011/08/quote-of-day-from-barney-frank.html

Heh, heh. Rachel almost got suspended over that one. The only thing that saved her was that everybody else was suspended that week.

Anyway, if you don't want that to happen to you, take my advice. Keep a large economy-size jar handy at all times. You can get a 6-month supply at CostCo (3-month supply for me). That way, you won't let flatulence get in the way of important tasks like destroying the banks, taking care of Maxine Waters' husband, or cleaning up parking tickets in front of my boyfriend's brothel, er Washington apartment, or hiding my other boyfriend's marijuana patch up in Maine, or taking care of my other boyfriend's business at Fannie Mae.

Gotta go now. Rachel's waiting to interview me.

Aaaaaaaaah. That was a good one.

A Letter From an Edinburgh University Professor to the Students

Hat tip to Israpundit

It is so refreshing (and quite surprising) to come across a university professor who has a complete brain inside his skull. That's why I am pleased to cross-post this letter from Professor Denis MacEoin of Edinburgh University (that's in Scotland for all you UC Santa Cruz Community Studies majors) to the student association after they voted overwhelmingly to boycott everything connected to Israel because they have been duped by their other professors into thinking Israel is a Nazi/apartheid state.

http://www.israpundit.com/archives/38051

"May I be permitted to say a few words to members of the EUSA? I am an Edinburgh graduate (MA 1975) who studied Persian, Arabic and Islamic History in Buccleuch Place under William Montgomery Watt and Laurence Elwell Sutton, two of Britain ‘s great Middle East experts in their day. I later went on to do a PhD at Cambridge and to teach Arabic and Islamic Studies at Newcastle University . Naturally, I am the author of several books and hundreds of articles in this field.

I say all that to show that I am well informed in Middle Eastern affairs and that, for that reason, I am shocked and disheartened by the EUSA motion and vote. I am shocked for a simple reason: there is not and has never been a system of apartheid in Israel . That is not my opinion, that is fact that can be tested against reality by any Edinburgh student, should he or she choose to visit Israel to see for themselves.

Let me spell this out, since I have the impression that those member of EUSA who voted for this motion are absolutely clueless in matters concerning Israel, and that they are, in all likelihood, the victims of extremely biased propaganda coming from the anti-Israel lobby. Being anti-Israel is not in itself objectionable. But I’m not talking about ordinary criticism of Israel . I’m speaking of a hatred that permits itself no boundaries in the lies and myths it pours out. Thus, Israel is repeatedly referred to as a “Nazi” state.

In what sense is this true, even as a metaphor? Where are the Israeli concentration camps? The einzatsgruppen? The SS? The Nuremberg Laws? The Final Solution? None of these things nor anything remotely resembling them exists in Israel , precisely because the Jews, more than anyone on earth, understand what Nazism stood for. It is claimed that there has been an Israeli Holocaust in Gaza (or elsewhere). Where? When? No honest historian would treat that claim with anything but the contempt it deserves. But calling Jews Nazis and saying they have committed a Holocaust is as basic a way to subvert historical fact as anything I can think of.

Likewise apartheid. For apartheid to exist, there would have to be a situation that closely resembled things in South Africa under the apartheid regime. Unfortunately for those who believe this, a weekend in any part of Israel would be enough to show how ridiculous the claim is. That a body of university students actually fell for this and voted on it is a sad comment on the state of modern education. The most obvious focus for apartheid would be the country’s 20% Arab population. Under Israeli law, Arab Israelis have exactly the same rights as Jews or anyone else; Muslims have the same rights as Jews or Christians; Baha’is, severely persecuted in Iran, flourish in Israel, where they have their world centre; Ahmadi Muslims, severely persecuted in Pakistan and elsewhere, are kept safe by Israel; the holy places of all religions are protected under a specific Israeli law. Arabs form 20% of the university population (an exact echo of their percentage in the general population). In Iran , the Baha’is (the largest religious minority) are forbidden to study in any university or to run their own universities: why aren’t your members boycotting Iran ?

Arabs in Israel can go anywhere they want, unlike blacks in apartheid South Africa . They use public transport, they eat in restaurants, they go to swimming pools, they use libraries, they go to cinemas alongside Jews = something no blacks could do in South Africa . Israeli hospitals not only treat Jews and Arabs, they also treat Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank. On the same wards, in the same operating theatres.

In Israel, women have the same rights as men: there is no gender apartheid. Gay men and women face no restrictions, and Palestinian gays often escape into Israel, knowing they may be killed at home. It seems bizarre to me that LGBT groups call for a boycott of Israel and say nothing about countries like Iran, where gay men are hanged or stoned to death. That illustrates a mindset that beggars belief. Intelligent students thinking it’s better to be silent about regimes that kill gay people, but good to condemn the only country in the Middle East that rescues and protects gay people. Is that supposed to be a sick joke?

University is supposed to be about learning to use your brain, to think rationally, to examine evidence, to reach conclusions based on solid evidence, to compare sources, to weigh up one view against one or more others. If the best Edinburgh can now produce are students who have no idea how to do any of these things, then the future is bleak. I do not object to well documented criticism of Israel . I do object when supposedly intelligent people single the Jewish state out above states that are horrific in their treatment of their populations.

We are going through the biggest upheaval in the Middle East since the 7th and 8th centuries, and it’s clear that Arabs and Iranians are rebelling against terrifying regimes that fight back by killing their own citizens. Israeli citizens, Jews and Arabs alike, do not rebel (though they are free to protest). Yet Edinburgh students mount no demonstrations and call for no boycotts against Libya, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Iran. They prefer to make false accusations against one of the world’s freest countries, the only country in the Middle East that has taken in Darfur refugees, the only country in the Middle East that gives refuge to gay men and women, the only country in the Middle East that protects the Baha’is…. Need I go on? The imbalance is perceptible, and it sheds no credit on anyone who voted for this boycott.

I ask you to show some common sense. Get information from the Israeli embassy. Ask for some speakers. Listen to more than one side. Do not make your minds up until you have given a fair hearing to both parties. You have a duty to your students, and that is to protect them from one-sided argument. They are not at university to be propagandized. And they are certainly not there to be tricked into anti-Semitism by punishing one country among all the countries of the world, which happens to be the only Jewish state. If there had been a single Jewish state in the 1930s (which, sadly, there was not), don’t you think Adolf Hitler would have decided to boycott it? Of course he would, and he would not have stopped there.

Your generation has a duty to ensure that the perennial racism of anti-Semitism never sets down root among you. Today, however, there are clear signs that it has done so and is putting down more. You have a chance to avert a very great evil, simply by using reason and a sense of fair play. Please tell me that this makes sense. I have given you some of the evidence. It’s up to you to find out more.

Yours sincerely,"

Fousesquawk comment:

Well said, Professor. I can actually go you one better. You probably have not heard that here in the colonies, the Syrian honorary consul in Newport Beach, California is actually the chair of the UC Irvine Foundation. His name is Chehabi, and supposedly his Dad was a general involved in that little affair in Hama back in the 1980s. However, here in the USA as in Britain, Israel is always viewed as the bad guy on our university campuses. That's because our campuses are ruled by the drones with PHDs after their names, guys like Norman Finkelstein, Richard Falk, Hatem Bazian. Juan Cole, William Robinson et al, ad nauseum.

Normie Finkelstein-"Independent scholar with a PhD from Princeton"

Here at UCI, where I teach, we have had an all-star lineup of speakers over the years from Finkie to Cynthia McKinney to Alim Musa. Great Britain has even sent us such "luminaries" as Yvonne Ridley, George Galloway and Ben White to fertilize our ivy halls with their.......

.

So I sympathize with you, Professor. True education is pretty difficult these days, isn't it?

Meet Rama at 1NewHeart

Rama

Hank Dannecker in Jerusalem has just sent me a notice on the newest Palestinian child 1NewHeart is sponsoring. This little baby, just born, requires open heart surgery to correct a condition known as Transposition of the Great Arteries.  As with other children, Israeli doctors are providing pro bono surgery at Wolfson Hospital in Israel.

http://www.1newheart.org/Sponsored_Children.html

Let's pray that things go well for Rama-and please check out 1NewHeart's link on this blog. This is great work being done, and you will probably never hear about it on any university campus amid all the condemnation of Israel that rules on our campuses.

Hussam Ayloush (CAIR) Speaks on Shariah

On April 13, 2011, Hussam Ayloush, the director of CAIR in Southern California, spoke at the Islamic Center of Orange County. His speech was about Shariah and why, in his view, it is perfectly in conformance with the US Constitution. As you know, Shariah law is under attack in the US due to concerns or fears about such issues as stoning for adultery, apostasy, death penalty for homosexuals, honor-killings, dhimmitude, jizya (tax for non-Muslims) and attitudes toward non-Muslims. This speech, which is posted on Ayloush's own website, is meant to assuage fears on the part of non-Muslims about Shariah. It lasts 38 minutes, but I think it merits watching by any non-Muslim who harbors fears of Shariah being imposed in any way upon a Western country.

http://hussamayloush.blogspot.com/2011/04/khutbahsermon-understanding-and.html

After watching this video, you might ask yourself if Ayloush has assuaged any of your concerns about Sharia.

The Hypocrisy of Warren Buffett

Warren Buffett
Warren Buffett
Hypocrite

You remember that rich guy, Warren Buffett who has been going around telling fellow millionaires that they need to pay higher taxes? You know Buffett, the second-richest guy in America?

"Uhhhh.....yeaaaah."

Well, guess what. It seems that Buffett's company owes back taxes going back to 2002. Read the NY Post story below:

http://www.nypost.com/p/news/opinion/editorials/warren_buffett_hypocrite_E3BsmJmeQVE38q2Woq9yjJ#ixzz1WSjzoykt

This is just another example of the hypocrisy of people who say we need to raise taxes on the rich. Buffett is in the tank for President Obama and his merry band of Beltway Bandits. While he lectures others to pay more, he cheats on his own taxes-just like that whippersnapper of a Treasury Secretary, Tim Geithner.

Rachel Maddow look-a-like

You see, it's not just billionaires like Buffett or even millionaires who are being told they don't pay their fair share. The plain and simple fact is that our government couldn't fix the deficit if they confiscated all the wealth of every billionaire and millionaire in this country. That's why Obama wants to raise taxes on anyone making over $250,000 a year. I  have news for you. That includes a lot of small businesses across the country. It probably includes the local hardware store or many of the bars or restaurants you go to-maybe even your local McDonald's franchise. Are they rich too? Do you think if that local restaurant has to pay higher taxes they might just have to let one or two workers go?

Now we have Obama preparing his announcement of his next big....JOBS BILL. Make that budget-busting spending bill. He doesn't care if he bankrupts the country; then he can build it back up according to his socialist image. It's like visiting modern-day Berlin. All those gleaming glass buildings on Potsdamer Platz were only made possible by the Soviets and the Allies pounding the city into rubble in 1945.

But I digress. At least now this pompous Buffett character has been exposed for what he is-a hypocrite.

Ten Year Commemoration of 9-11 and Mayor Bloomberg

I never have been able to figure out this mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York. Not being a resident of the Big Apple, I am not qualified to comment on his overall performance, but this ten year anniversary of 9-11 is causing a lot of anger. Bloomberg has announced that there will be no religious services or clergy involved with the event and further that first responders also will not be invited to participate (due to space issues.)

Given the number of VIPs who will be invited to participate, it would seem proper for them to give up their invitations in favor of the true heroes of 9-11. As we know, so many first responders also died in the attack while trying to save others. I am not saying President Obama should not be there-he should as well as family survivors of those who died. Yet, this is nothing less than a slap in the face of those who risked their lives and survived.

As for the second issue, it is obvious that Bloomberg is trying to avoid the difficulty in inviting Christian and Jewish clergy while not inviting Muslim clergy-which would infuriate many in itself. The obvious escape hatch is to take out any religious aspects. Yet, what is a ten-year commemoration of this tragedy without anyone praying?

It comes down to this; is it appropriate for Muslim officials or clergy to attend this event since 9-11 was carried out largely in the name of Islam and Allah?

Remember when German chancellor Willy Brandt went to the Warsaw ghetto in 1970 to participate in a commemoration there?

For Germany, this was a public gesture of atonement for the crimes committed by Germany in World War II. Brandt was never a Nazi. He was an opponent of the Nazis who fled to Norway and Sweden and stayed there during the war years. In addition, Germany regularly makes gestures of contrition for what happened in the Nazi years. I have written about what the city of Erlangen does to commemorate the night of Kristallnacht. The commemoration is held at the local Jewish cemetery. Other cities also recognize their responsibility in this regard. In my view, Germans like Brandt have performed beautiful gestures in the years since World War II. The nation has also striven to educate its youth about the events of the past in the hope that such acts will never be repeated

Is this even a valid comparison?

Does that mean that all Germans today, born after the war, are responsible? No. It must also be said that millions of Germans in the Nazi years committed no crimes. Yet the stain is there. Horrible acts were committed in the name of Germany.

That leads me to ask; who would represent the Muslim faith at a 9-11 commemoration and what would such person say? Would he or she say that the people who carried out 9-11 were not following the teachings of Islam and the Prophet Mohammed? (They thought they were.) Would a Muslim speaker say that the people who carried out 9-11 had misinterpreted Islam?  Would they say that 9-11 was not carried out on behalf of American Muslims? Would they point out that Muslims also died on 9-11? Would they state that Islam is a religion of peace? Would the speaker(s) say that they felt shame over 9-11 and wanted to atone and stand with America in its fight to prevent further attacks? Would they disown the words of hateful speakers like Yusuf al Qaradawi, who is the spiritual mentor of the Muslim Brotherhood and considered one of the leading Islamic scholars in the world? Would the speaker(s) state that too much hate is being preached in many American mosques and that it has to stop? Would any of the speakers proclaim that Islam  requires a Reformation to rid itself of its violent and elements?

Please understand that these are not rhetorical questions and I am not presupposing any of the above. I think they are legitimate questions. Were any Muslim representatives to speak, the reception they received would depend on much on what they said.
Another issue would be who should represent Islam at the 9-11 commemoration.  There are a host of so-called moderates to whom the government has reached out to since 9-11 to represent the Islamic faith. Sadly, some of these people have proven to be wolves in sheep's clothing like Abdulrahman Alamoudi, who is now in prison. Others enjoy a reputation as "bridge-builders" who travel the interfaith circuit yet have been known to have questionable associations with radicals and to have made questionable statements.

Were I to invite a Muslim speaker, it would be one who I have full confidence in as a true American moderate, someone like Zuhdi Jasser or Stephen Schwartz. Yet these are figures that our government leaders are reluctant to reach out to because they tell the truth about the threat we face.

Mayor Bloomberg apparently has chosen to avoid all of these questions by excluding any religious aspect to the commemoration. That still leaves unanswered whether we will see representatives of organizations like CAIR present. Undoubtedly, millions of peaceful American Muslims would like to see some Muslim representation at the commemoration. In my view, CAIR would be a huge mistake.

Bloomberg understandably has a "sticky wicket" on his hands, as I believe the British expression goes.

He might still consider Jasser and Schwartz.

Union Goons in Milwaukee

(Milwaukee Journal)

Hat tip to Hot Air

Below is another example of why Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin is right. On Friday, as the governor came to visit a successful choice school in Milwaukee, the union goons turned out to make noise and intimidate.

http://hotair.com/archives/2011/08/27/video-the-ugly-protest-at-wisconsins-messmer-catholic-school-over-walker-visit/

We have a similar problem in California, where the unions-especially the teachers union- control the state capital. Meanwhile, you see in Milwaukee a school where kids are polite and well-mannered-quite in contrast to the union controlled public schools.

I also noted Obama's friends in the SEIU were there in their purple people beater t-shirts. What they would like to see is those nice little kids returned to the crime factories of the inner city public schools where they can learn to be gang members, thugs-and maybe even union organizers.

Pray for Al Gore

Al Gore-Vegetarian

Pray for Al Gore.

Why? Because the man has lost his mind, that's why. Now he is comparing climate change to the civil rights struggle.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/08/28/al-gore-compares-climate-change-to-civil-rights-fight/

"That happened in millions of conversations, and slowly the conversation was won,” Gore said. “And we still have racism, God knows, but it's so different now and so much better. And we have to win the conversation on climate.”

So is Gore suggesting that any differing opinions on climate change must be considered unacceptable in polite conversation?

Not only that, but things are so serious, Gore is implying we all need to become vegetarians.

"Industrial agriculture is a part of the problem,” Gore said. “The shift toward a more meat-intensive diet,” the clearing of forest areas in many parts of the world in order to raise more cattle and the reliance on synthetic nitrogen for fertilizer are also problems, he added.

"I'll drink to that."

Indeed.

Well, at least he didn't say that we all need to give up our private jets to get from speech to speech and interview to interview.

Just think how close this boob came to being president.

Pray.

Carolyn Glick's Article on Glenn Beck in Israel

Carolyn B Glick, who writes for the Jerusalem Post, is a great columnist in my view. She understands what is at stake in Israel, and she knows who Israel's friends are and who are not. In this piece, she lauds Glenn Beck's recent trip to Israel to show American support. This article was recommnded to me by Peter Lancz, who is involved in efforts to bring a statue of Raoul Wallenberg to the UC-Irvine campus. (To find out more about this project, you can click Peter's site under "Worthy of our support".)

http://www.jpost.com/Opinion/Columnists/Article.aspx?id=235441

Kudos to Beck for his trip to Israel. He truly understands the importance of our relationship with Israel-the only democracy in the Middle East.

The Hunt For Ghaddafi-Update (Sort of)

First, he was in Algeria. Then, a couple of days ago, he was surrounded in an apartment complex in Tripoli. Now he is believed to be in his hometown of Sirte having that last slice of his Mom's apple pie. It is reported that French and NATO planes are helping in the search.

Does anybody know where the Hell Ghaddafi is?

Meanwhile, back in the States, the big news is that hurricane.

Andrew McCarthy in National Review

Terrorism expert Andrew McCarthy was written an article in National Review that I am cross-posting as a follow-up to my response to the Islamophobia report by Center for American Progress. McCarthy also describes the intolerable situation in Malmo, Sweden, of which I have posted several articles myself.

The Latest Islamophobia Report

The Center for American Progress is a progressive organization (they label themselves as "non-partisan") founded by John Podesta, one of President Clinton's closest advisors. It has just published a booklet on the topic of Islamophobia, which is linked below.

http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/2011/08/islamophobia.html

My reactions to this are many. First of all, this is a political document designed to discredit the American right. You will note the repeated use of adjectives such as "right-wing" and "Christian". You should also note that this report received financial funding from George Soros' Open Society.

Look at the people who are singled out for criticism. Not only do they go after Steve Emerson, Robert Spencer, Pam Geller, Brigitte Gabriel, and David Horowitz, they also mention Republicans like Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Peter King, Newt Gingrich, Sue Myrick and Michele Bachmann. They also attack true moderates like Zuhdi Jasser, a practicing Muslim and former Muslims like Nonie Darwish. In fact, the authors try to drag in virtually every conservative figure or organization they can including, naturally, the Tea Party. And of course, Fox News and the "well-developed right-wing echo chamber" are mentioned. Is this really about defending innocent Muslims or just about making liberal/Democratic talking points?

In attacking these figures, they repeat many of the statements that their targets have made about the Islamic threats of violence, intolerance and aspects of sharia law. Yet, they cannot effectively refute them. They want to make the reader believe that talk of Islamic radicalism in American mosques, Islamic supremism, and the threat of sharia to the West are overblown and have no validity.

The writers also want you to think that the people they are singling out for blame have attacked all Muslims as people. That is a canard. Yes, I have read many comments about Muslims on the Internet that are totally intolerant, but not from the people that this report singles out.

This is not even an attempt to suppress Muslim worship, yet certain aspects of Islam-especially as a political ideology- should be open for discussion when they conflict with American values, laws, and our Constitution. This is nothing less than another left-wing attempt to smear conservatives and stifle any critical discussion of Islam. Are we also supposed to cease any critical discussion of pedophilia by Catholic priests-even though such discussion  has never been accused of damning Catholics in general?

To try and discredit the critics is to say that there is no Islamic terrorism in the world, that there is no intolerance toward non-Muslims in the world, that there is no wish to implement sharia in the West, that no Muslim has ever acted out an honor-killing in America, that there is absolutely no hate and subversion being preached in any American mosque. They might as well deny 9-11 ever happened. They might as well deny Ft Hood and all the intended terrorist attacks that have been thwarted here in America-not to mention those not thwarted that happen regularly in Pakistan, Aghanistan, Somalia, Nigeria,  and so many other places.-all spurred by the hate that this article purports to condemn.

Anyone who is not living in a shell knows better. It doesn't apply to all Muslims and certainly not to all Muslims in America, but it applies to many-including several very prominent Islamic clerics whose hateful messages are documented in video and/or audio. Have you ever heard the sermons of Yusuf al Qaradawi? He is the number one cleric of the Muslim Brotherhood, and make no mistake, he is a virulent anti-Semite. I could list so many others, some right here in America.

Read this report carefully. If you buy into it, you must accept that there is no Islamic terrorist threat. There is no intolerance of other religions within Islam even though it is documented in the Quran and the hadith. You must accept that there are no radical Islamists in our midst who preach hate against the US, Israel, Jews and non-Muslims. You must ignore the parts of sharia law that dictate death for apostates, stoning for women who commit adultery, dhimmitude or death for non-Muslims and all the rest. You must say that we have no right to challenge that.

My impression of this report is that the true purpose is not to defend innocent, peaceful Muslims (which I also support) but to make political points against the conservative right. However, it does remind us that we must always differentiate between those Muslims who have a radical, fundamentalist agenda and those simply trying to lead their lives as best they can. To point out the legitimate concerns that we have is not to preach hate against an entire group of people. To this end, I bring up Anders Breivik, the Norwegian who recemtly committed mass murder over this issue. This report tries to make the point that he drew his inspiration from the same people the report condemns. Yet none of those people or anyone else I am aware of has applauded his act. They have universally condemned it.

The very language of the report gives it away. It has a purely political agenda.

DOJ Compliance Section-All Left-Wingers

Huge hat tip to Pajamas Media

J. Christian Adams in Pajamas Media has written another in the continuing series of reports on Eric Holder's Justice Department political hires. Seventh in a series, this one highlights the political hires in the Compliance Section. Leftie activists all.

http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/every-single-one-the-politicized-hiring-of-eric-holder%e2%80%99s-compliance-section/

I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the great job Pajamas Media is doing in exposing the corruption in DOJ. In addition to this series of articles, which are a result of a Freedom of Information request followed by a lawsuit, Pajamas Media is also taking the lead in rooting out the ATF Fast and Furious scandal and DOJ's part in it.

Ed Schultz Calls Mario Rubio's Speech "Psycho Talk"

Hat tip to News Busters

Ed Schultz, Butter and Egg Man at MSNBC, knows a lot about psycho behavior and psycho talk because he is a master of it. Yet, he assigns this term to Marco Rubio's speech at the Reagan Library this week.

http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/geoffrey-dickens/2011/08/26/ed-schultz-dont-be-fooled-pretty-boy-rubio-hell-be-ugly-senior-cit

Here is a sentence from Rubio's speech that Ed left out (a known Ed tactic):

"My generation must fully accept, the sooner the better, that if we want there to be a Social Security and a Medicare when we retire, and if we want America as we know it to continue when we retire, then we must accept and begin to make changes to those programs now, for us."

Here is the entire text of Rubio's speech from the LA Times:

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2011/08/marco-rubio-reagan-library-republican-ticket.html

How curious that Schultz has introduced a segment of his show to "psycho talk". His entire hour-long show is psycho talk. This is the guy who called Laura Ingraham a "right-wing slut" repeatedly on the air. This is the guy who edited a Rick Perry speech in Iowa to make it appear that he was calling President Obama a "big, black cloud hanging over America" when Perry was clearly talking about our national debt. And he thinks Rubio is engaging in "psycho talk"??

I would love to see this big dolt engage in a  debate with Rubio-on any subject. Does he wish to argue that Medicare and Social Security are sustainable the way we are going? What is his solution?

It's not just that Schultz and his fellow mad-hatters at MSNBC are ideological left-wingers. It's not just that they organize their daily programs to attack the major Republican contender as they surface. Ed Schultz, particularly, is a dishonest reporter, who manufactures his talking points and molds them with creative editing.

Do I want to see Schultz fired? On the contrary. I want every fair-minded person who considers him or herself a middle-of-the-roader to spend an entire evening watching the nightly parade of Democratic propagandists masquerading as news people. Watch and see the outrageous statements they make.  See how many conservative voices appear to debate with them. Compare that with the liberal debators on the much-maligned  Fox channel.

Please don't fire Ed Schultz. He makes our case every night.

New York Jewish Federation Head Under Fire

Hat tip to New English Review

My friend and colleague Jerry Gordon has penned an article expanding on the JCCWatch.org report on John Ruskay, head of the New York UJA-Federation.

http://www.newenglishreview.org/blog_display.cfm/blog_id/37382#CurDomainURL#/blog.cfm

And oh, the money!

I find it interesting that so many major Jewish organizations in the US have ties to people like George Soros and others who are trying to undermine Israel while hiding their actual hostility to the Jewish state. Not that every American Jew is expected to be a supporter of Israel. Many are not-most notably Jewish Voice for Peace. Others, like J Street, proclaim themselves to be pro-Israel while supporting virtually every Palestinian talking point. It strikes me that some of these organizations are founded on lies.

CAIR Goes Crying to DOJ-Stop NYPD From Doing its Job

The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has predictably gone crying to its friend in Eric Holder's Justice Department to intervene and stop the New York City PD from doing its duty to prevent another 9-11. Here is the report from their own website.

http://www.cair.com/ArticleDetails.aspx?ArticleID=26876&&name=n&&currPage=1&&Active=1

Today's Washington Post published the AP report on the NYPD investigation.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/with-cia-help-nypd-built-secret-effort-to-monitor-mosques-daily-life-of-muslim-neighborhoods/2011/08/24/gIQAr87haJ_story.html

Since when is it against the law for police to conduct surveillances? Let's not forget the motivation is to save lives by preventing more terror attacks. I see no mention of people being dragged away in the dead of night. I see no mention of illegal wiretaps or searches. I see no human rights violations here. Post 9-11, the CIA and domestic intelligence agencies have been able to work together since that "wall" built up by Jamie Gorelick in the Clinton Justice Department has been torn down. What is wrong with the CIA giving training to local police forces? What is sancrosanct about mosques when so many of them are sites where hate and subversion are being propagated? Hopefully, the NYPD is monitoring that mosque in Brooklyn headed up by Siraj Wahhaj. We know what kind of preaching comes out of there because it's documented on audiotape.

It will be interesting to see if Eric Holder's Justice Department will accommodate CAIR and intervene against the NYPD.

Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations- Still Waiting for an Answer

As I pointed out this week, last weekend, I sent an e-mail to the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations asking for a breakdown on their most recent hate crimes stats as to who the perps and victims were.

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2011/08/hate-crimes-in-philadelphia.html

To date, I have received no response. Keep in mind, this agency has an annual budget of over 2 million dollars. One would think they could get me the requested information, couldn't one?

Couldn't one?

California Set to Pass DREAM Act

Gil Cedillo (One Bill Gil*) has introduced his own version of a California DREAM Act bill that would provide tax-payer money to fund scholarships to illegal alien college students. It has just passed the State Assembly and could be voted on in the State Senate as early as today. It would then be signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown ( 2011 AB 131).

Just what we need in a time of recession, right? Now our state taxes will go to provide scholarships and other services to illegal aliens in college-filling seats that citizens and legal aliens can't get.

For details go to John and Ken Show.

http://www.kfiam640.com/pages/jk2010.html?article=9018923

* One Bill Gil is the nickname for Cedillo, a state Democrat assemblyman representing the 45th District (East LA) who annually presents a bill to allow illegal aliens to get California drivers licenses.

Hate Crime Stats in Sweden

Hat tip to Sweden, Israel and the Jews

It looks like our friends in Sweden are having a difficult time breaking down their statistics on hate crimes as the below article will attest.

http://swedenisrael.blogspot.com/2011/08/swedish-hate-crime-twisted-statistics.html

What is clearly missing in the Local article is the fact that most hate crimes and other hateful expressions toward Jews are carried out by the Muslim immigrants-the other victim group. What is needed is a clear analysis, something the Swedes are apparently reluctant to do. For example, what is the breakdown on actual physical assaults, and who are the perpetrators?

Of course, it is fashionable to lay it all off on "right-wing nationalists", etc. The question is are Muslims being attacked on the streets, their mosques defaced, or are they being verbally assaulted? These things are clearly happening to the Jews, espcially in Malmo. Are the expressions of hate towards Muslims basically coming from "Islamphobic websites" that decry the Muslim immigration? Aside from expressing their resentment at the foreign Muslim presence in their societies and its effects, what else have they done?

There are too many unanswered questions. This is why statistices can be deceiving.

Marco Rubio at the Reagan Library

Last night on CSPAN, I caught Marco Rubio's speech at the Reagan Library this week. Suffice to say, I now understand why so many Republicans are pushing him to fill the VP slot in the coming presidential race. This man seems to have it all. Not only can he articulate the conservative philosophy, he is remarkably positive when talking about America. Below is a curiously-worded report from the liberal LA Times that seems to put a negative tint to the appearance without providing any real information. It contains video and the text.

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2011/08/marco-rubio-reagan-library-republican-ticket.html

"If you're hale, hearty and running for president on the Republican ticket, you might be out of luck adding Florida Sen. Marco Rubio to your team. More on that in a bit."

"But some of the most interesting parts of the evening came before and after the formal remarks."

So what's your point, Times?

God only knows what the Times was trying to imply though they did follow up with a link to the account of how Nancy Regan fell while entering the room on Rubio's arm.

Rubio was born in America to Cuban immigrants who had fled Castro. He speaks of the deep love he and his family have for America and the opportunities provided here.Hhe underestands that our greatness comes from our people and traditions- not government.

I have previously said that of all the Republican candidates, Newt Gingrich articulates conservative values far better than any of them. The problem is that he has too much personal baggage and a history of changing course when he was speaker of the House. Rubio appears to have the same clarity of vision as Gingrich but without the baggage that Newt has.

I noticed that Rubio spoke without a teleprompter yet gave his speech fluently and flawlessly. He didn't try to use empty but soaring rhetoric, rather he spoke as if he were in someone's living room over coffee explaining why he loves this country and believes in conservative principles.  His delivery is very impressive. In short, he has charisma and his words are striking.

Of course, Rubio is young (40) and looks younger. He is in his first term as a US Senator (as was Barack Obama when he won the presidency).

That makes two exciting young Republicans in Florida; Rubio and Allen West. Both have acknowledged that they are not ready to run for president. Yet, I am convinced that they will both be candidates in the coming years. (2016). Both Rubio and West stand in stark contrast to the recent charges of racism that some Democrats are leveling against the Tea Party. It is a fact that West, Rubio and Herman Cain are Tea Party favorites, as are Sarah Palin and Michele Obama. How can Maxine Waters and Frederica Wilson explain that fact?

Of course, a good speaker is a good speaker and not necessarily anything else as Obama has proved. Yet, I do believe that were Rubio to jump into the race, he would outshine them all.  Keep an eye on this young man. I see a future president.

"Minor-Attracted" not Pedophilia

You can't make this stuff up, folks.

Incredibly, a group of psychiatrists has held a conference in which they concluded that pedophilia is not an appropriate term for those who sexually abuse children.

Minor-attracted.

http://www.foxnews.com/health/2011/08/24/mental-health-group-looks-to-remove-stigma-from-pedophilia/

It appears this "event" took place at Johns Hopkins University. Here is the program.

http://www.b4uact.org/science/symp/2011/program.htm

Below is a statement announcing the symposium.

http://b4uact.org/news/20110817.htm

So now we have a new, politically-correct term trying to enter our lexicon: "Minor-attracted". Pedophilia is too harsh say the psychiatrists, who seem to all come from universities. What a surprise.

All of this leads to other questions. For example, what shall we call Hitler? How about "genocide-attracted"? That has a nice ring to it. We could refer to the Manson gang as "knife-attracted". And it could go on and on.

Why is it that the most extreme forms of idiocy always emanate from our universities? Johns Hopkins should be embarrassed.

Meanwhile, if pedophile is no longer appropriate, my suggestion is...

criminal pervert.

"Good news, mein Fuehrer. History will remember you as a Francophobe."

Diario Report on Robyn Gardner

(Diario)

Below is the Diario (Aruba) article of August 24 on the status of the Gardner case.

http://www.diario.aw/2011/08/desaparicion-di-robyn-gardner-ta-birando-un-misterio/

Disappearance of Robyn Gardner Becoming a Mystery

Too many points that don't add up, statements without foundation, contradictory witnesses and a video that lead to a mystery that doesn't have answers to all the questions ....... The investigating police are unable to solve the puzzle, and the only suspect in the disappearance of the woman is maintaining silence. Nevertheless, there is a security videotape of the area that ensures lots of inquiries.

Autoridadnan local ta sospechando awor cu lo por tin e posibilidad cu nunca e sospechoso no a drenta lama cu su amiga, manera el a declara na Polis.

Local authorities now suspect there could be the possibility that the suspect never went in the ocean with his friend as he stated to the police.

Camara di seguridad a capta e auto yega, bay back despues di 10 minuut y bolbe regresa pa mas o menos 6’or di atardi pa bati alarma.

A security camera captured his car arrive, leave after ten minutes and return more or less at 6 in the afternoon to give the alarm.

Tambe Polisnan nunca no a topa cu fleppers manera a bisa, pues tin duda cu e sospechoso lo por a landa eytras cu keds bisti manera e ta pretende. Mas leu den su declaracion cu e por a mira un bandera di Aruba siendo cu e atardi ey e negoshi den vecindario a baha bandera for di 4’or di atardi caba.

In addition, police have not found flippers as he said, so there is doubt the suspect could have swum back (to shore) dressed in tennis shoes as he maintains.

Asina tin un lista di misterionan cu ta haci finalisacion di e caso aki dificil. Tanten cu no descubri e curpa, sea bibo of morto, lo no por sigui specula mas. Mester menciona cu algun declaracion di e sospechoso tampoco ta cuadra cu otro.

So there is a list of mysteries that make solving of this case difficult. Since they have not found the body, dead or alive, one cannot speculate more. It must be mentioned that some statements of the suspect do not conform with others.

Ta intencion di husticia pa wanta e sospechoso deteni, pero den e tempo stipula mester yega na e evidencianan of declaracionnan convincente pa Corte por dicidi riba su detencion preventivo.

It is the intention of the justice (officials) to keep the suspect detained, but in the stipulated time, they must come up with convincing evidence or statements for the court to decide on preventative detention.
